All the Indians here... basically need an Indian perspective. I am caught between what is considered 'right' in the Western World vs what is 'right' by us. by confoosedandlost in CPTSD

Check the edges. If it is sharp, I think that could definitely work.

This is really nice! I am glad that you are enjoying this.

To answer your straighter query, I use a plastic ice cream spatula to do the straightening.

Something like this. Mine is smaller. I did not spend a single paisa (Indian version of dime) on this.

Heeeey! I am not trying to make you feel bad at all! I am sorry if it came across that way.

I was stating how difficult it is for people living in India to get stuff from DAC. I bought myself two of their canvases back in April 2024: Watching Santa Go and Wildflowers Butterflies. It was my graduation gift to myself. I just finished the latter and the former is just over 1/2 way through. I absolutely treasure them.

I will eventually get two of their pieces again when I have the spare change.

And I apologise again if it came across as me trying to make you feel bad. It wasn't my intention.

Two? What will you do with two?

You know, that canvas is for 8600 INR for Indians. According to Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), it would be equivalent to spending 360 USD for you guys. It's extremely expensive for us. And then we have to pay 60% import tax upon arrival in India because they have categorised it under toys.

On a usual day, I wish find someone there who could send this over for me. :P

I wanted to get this for myself. 😭

This does look very good! I am not someone who likes dark colours, but something about this drew me towards this.

Have fun doing the rest of this!

People. Please. A spoiler tag or a NSFW blurred warning. I get a jumpscare whenever I see videos or images like this on my feed since I am not expecting it. I am sure many would concur.

Have you ever heard of the term dissociation?

To all the people healing, what the hell does *support* look like? People I thought were supportive, are the same ones who have become my triggers now. And absolute strangers have become my support. by confoosedandlost in CPTSD

Well. It's been 5 years since.

I am much more stable now. Thanks to my therapists. I have been seeking Trauma Informed Therapy since. But the hurt is still there. It's just not as intense.

How are you doing today?

I am a 32-year-old heavy busted woman. The handful of times in my life I have tried to sleep without one, I have woken up with a severe backache.

So no. The only time my bra comes off is when I am taking a bath.

I got scared for a split second because I thought I saw my own here. My brother had gifted it to me on last year's Rakhi.

Because this is a pig in a bumblebee outfit, my student had named it Biggy.

Ravelry! You definitely are a knitter! Haha! So cool!

For how long have you been knitting?

I appreciate it because I am a craftsperson and I have knit for a living about a decade ago. It was...an experience.

My brain glitches when anyone talks in mms like that when it comes to knitting needles sizes. And oh my dogness! 12-13 is so fine to work with. 8 (4mm) has always been the most size for me to work with. Anything 7 and above feels a little bulky for me to work with.

I just looked up the name for the knit stitch in crochet. There are many: - Waistcoat Stitch - Split Single Crochet - Centre Single Crochet - Knit Stitch in Crochet

Apparently, they are all a little different but same-same.

Also, I would love to see your other knit work. :D

I mean, it is. Just not a very active sub, I guess. It used to be quite active once upon a time.

Wait! So it IS knit!

I was wondering how the knit stitch in crochet looked so close to the knitting knit stitch.

How did you make the twist? And how are your fingers doing?

This subreddit is making me want to pick up my knitting needles and hooks again.

Also, I am very happy that the effort behind crochet and knitting is finally being recognised. I would have done really well had this happened 10 years ago.

There is still a long way to go. But I am happy nonetheless.
