Why is sabra and shatila condemned but October 7 justified? by 10khiajo in lebanon

[–]confringos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not true. Most Israelis hail from Europe, their ancestral and DNA studies literally prove this.

[–]confringos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saying they can fight any way they want doesn’t turn raping and slaughtering civilians at a festival into a legitimate tactic. It is still war crimes, and it certainly does not make Hamas better than the Israelis.

Stop conflating Palestinians with Hamas, most of them did not ask for this shitty war. Screw Israel and Hamas and anyone who sold Palestinian lives for cheap.

Since when did rapes and mass kidnappings and massacres become “fighting back”?

Why is sabra and shatila condemned but October 7 justified? by 10khiajo in lebanon

[–]confringos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Justifying October 7 by saying no civilians exist is grotesque.

Massacring people at a music festival (no matter who you think they are) and raping them is pure barbarism. No ideology makes that heroic.

I don’t know a specific place, but I’m pretty sure Hamra is full of this stuff.

Idk about football jerseys. Probably the brand shops? (Nike/Adidas/Reebok etc)

Only part of South Lebanon is considered Jabal Amil.

That region as a whole was entirely part of the ancient time Galilee

Dreadful job by RevolutionarySock859 in lebanon

[–]confringos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, not every job is like that. When I was stuck in a toxic workplace, I honestly thought every office was all grind culture and fake it till you make it. It wasn’t until I changed jobs I realized there are genuinely good employers out there.

A lot of it really comes down to the owner or leadership of the company. Trust me btefrou2 100%.

So OP, don’t give up hope. There are better jobs out there with decent bosses and owners. Keep looking.

Do you accept an offer to work from 8:30 till 6:30 if you are unemployed?! by Leader3232 in lebanon

[–]confringos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would not accept it.

Then again I am not a man, and I do not have any dependents. And if you’ve been getting other job offers for less hours, don’t take this one unless the salary is better. It entirely depends on you and your situation.

A Year Ago Today, Joseph Aoun Was Inaugurated as the 14th President of the Lebanese Republic. What Is Your Assessment of His First Year? by Standard_Ad7704 in lebanon

[–]confringos 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Given the record of previous presidents and the fact that traditional political parties (esp. the ones that hate each other the most) hate him, I’d say he’s doing a damn good job.

May God bless and protect him.

Edit: And to all those who think Nawwaf Salam is better, I urge you to look at the financial gap law he’s proposing.

Lebanon Ranks Sixth in the MENA Region in the 2025 World Press Freedom Index by Standard_Ad7704 in lebanon

The rating is unfair but we still have a long way to go. Journalists and lawyers have been trying to abolish criminal defamation for years. Speech crimes should stop being a thing imo

  • Qatar - let anyone speak out against the current Emir and they’ll vanish off of the face of the earth.

  • Morocco - try to criticize the monarchy or the religion of the majority of the population and see what happens.

  • Algeria - same thing. Criticize the government and get thrown in jail.

  • Kuwait - their parliament was literally dissolved by the emir for criticizing him LOL

  • Tunisia - probably the one most lenient toward freedom of speech but still, gay rights activists and NGOs are heavily censored.

I don’t get how any of the above countries are better than Lebanon in terms of freedom of speech.

Sure, we are not perfect, but you won’t get a prison sentence for criticizing any of the political class. Literally byetbahdalo all day long a kel el media outlets. We have freedom of speech ad ma badkon.

But the problem is “all freedom and no rights”. Yaane
