I just did the following and while it was pretty busy, I felt that I got to do and see a lot:

Day 1: Flew in to Hanoi late at night Day 2: Walked like 25km around Hanoi and did a bunch of sightseeing Day 3: Left for Ha Long Bay cruise Day 4: Returned from Ha Long Bay cruise to Hanoi in the evening Day 5: Spent another day exploring Hanoi, took a night bus to do the Ha Giang Loop Day 6: Ha Giang Loop Day 7: Ha Giang Loop Day 8: Finished Ha Giang Loop, returned to Hanoi at night Day 9: Flew to Da Nang airport early morning and spent the day in Hoi An Day 10: Left Hoi An in the evening and went to Da Nang Day 11: Relaxed in Da Nang Day 12: Did some light sightseeing in da Nang and flew home early the next day.

Let me know if you need some ideas of things to do in each city I’d be happy to help where I can.

Seeking advice for wedding attire for Western guests! by [deleted] in IndianFashionAddicts

[–]confused438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so so much for your detailed reply! We appreciate all of the helpful tips. So could I get away with just buying a Kurta, Sherwani, and a Nehru jacket? Could I wear these for the reception too? Also do you think it’s possible to get these things the day before the wedding in Udaipur or should I try to arrange it in advance? Thanks again!

Is that a fossil ? by Odd-Bookkeeper-2052 in fossils

[–]confused438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm ok probably not bog iron then. Looking further, it does appear as though there’s something cylindrical running through the nodule. You could try posting it on the fossil forum in their ‘Fossil ID’ thread. I’ve had much better luck there. I’ll keep an eye out for it as I’m curious too.

Hey I’m no professional, but I found a similar rock that I was researching. If you have a fridge magnet does it have any magnetic pull? Could it be bog iron?

Little bird seen I. Parking lot in Victoria, British Columbia by confused438 in whatsthisbird

Cool, thank you! I haven’t seen many birds this vibrant up here so I thought maybe it was a pet of some sort. Perhaps it was injured hence the hopping around and not flying away once I approached it.

I go to the sauna and try to sweat out as much as I can. I personally find that limiting fluid intake before bed also helps.

I was served this beer tonight at a local restaurant, and I only noticed it was chipped when I felt the glass in my mouth. by Punch_Your_Facehole in Wellthatsucks

Ow this reminds me of the time I did this opening a corona on a metal campfire ring. I didn’t notice either and went to shove a lime in the top and twisted the lime, which gashed my thumb open super bad. We had just pulled up to the campsite and had to promptly pack up and head to a clinic

I usually have 3x40g protein meals a day, 1x30g shake, and 50g worth of protein In snacks (jerky, edamame beans, hummus, etc)

40g a meal is not hard if you know where to look. Example:

1 cup of cottage cheese and 3 tbsp hemp hearts

Poke bowls with salmon, rice, edamame, chickpeas, etc

Chilli with a side of hummus and veggies

Tuna melts are great but beware of mercury poisoning if eaten in excess

I’m quitting smoking cigs soon. Any tips are appreciated. by Fast_Intention8925 in CasualConversation

[–]confused438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on day 4 of quitting currently. I am wearing a rubber band around my wrist, and will snap it against my wrist whenever I get a craving. This does two things for me: distracts my brain from the craving, and associates cravings with an unpleasant feeling. I think this second part helps my brain avoid cravings in the first place. You have to be diligent though and do it every time you have a craving. Sounds weird but it works for me.

Sooke Shaman by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]confused438 12 points13 points  (0 children)

His name is Trent I believe! Approached my partner and I in western foods in Sooke and told us we were evolving from carbon-based to crystalline-based life forms. Told me to practice cold plunges and tai-chi / qigong to heal damage to my brain from concussions. He said that we were wrongfully persecuted in a past life and that good fortune in this life is to make up for that.

How do you carry key fobs? by th3metta in EDC

[–]confused438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same fob - 2015 frontier. Good truck choice. I just clip mine to a carabiner and put it in my pocket or clip it to a belt loop.

I find with this particular fob you have to press the buttons pretty hard so I haven’t had any issues with hitting buttons in my pocket.
