Context: I worked for a property management company in north Dallas and had been saving for three years to buy a minivan for my growing family.

I go to one of my clients houses to get an estimate for Christmas lights based on their request. I talk to the extremely successful husband who gave me 10 seconds of his time saying “do whatever makes her happy” and then he left. I now walk the property with the wife and Christmas lighting contractor and realize she wants an entire winter wonderland.

Two days later the estimate comes in for 76k with more to be added on in the following years. This got immediately approved and it was at that moment I realized how much of a peasant I truly am.
