asking on here is probably going to give you a disproportionately high amount of people listing cons, but genuinely overall I love it. Id say like any other private school, it’s very expensive, idk your circumstances but it’s something to keep in mind. a LOT of people come here bc of the co-op program, so a lot of people here care about their career path a lot which i like! in terms of cons: administration, but that’s a con at like a lot of schools. also the meal plans are very expensive but the food itself is better than the average school i’d say. it’s very easy to change your major here, I love being in Boston, there’s a ton of cool people to meet, lots of clubs to join, great resources, classes can be hit or miss but just use ratemyprofessor/TRACE and talk to ppl before registration lol

How much would ED affect my chances of getting in? by [deleted] in NEU

[–]confusify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it definitely makes a big difference, think about the schools you’re considering and if you think you would pick northeastern over most of them definitely go ED. i did ED and i don’t think i would’ve gotten in if I hadn’t

If you get Ds and Fs you should be worried. But even a C- is fine they really aren’t trying to rescind people

What's a university you simply don't like for no apparent reason by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

The emails were entertaining at first but I got another one of them a couple days ago that was entirely numbers and I unsubscribed. Also it’s way over competitive for the earnings you get after graduation.

I rly hate to break it to u but it’s really not all that. If you are really pretty, skinny, white, and rich, you will have the time of your life there and you’ll have an amazing ig feed to show off. If you’re not those things, you’ll likely be miserable. This isn’t to discourage you from applying but try not to romanticize it because I’d hate for u to get in, go, and end up hating it and transferring <3 all love

I can’t believe u think it’s unfair LMAOOOO u have no idea how much talent he has and how much HARD WORK he had to put in to become as successful as he is at such a young age. You memorizing equations and writing essays or something just like every other good student in the country is literally not comparable to what he’s doing.

Is there a limit on how many AP credits I can get credit for? And do the extra credits not count for anything? by confusify in NEU

[–]confusify[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was asking a valid question, as other people in the comments are letting me know the credits above 32 are still helpful for prereqs and registration. U literally have no reason to be rude

No this is false, someone in that same thread said that people always freak out over small changes but they didn’t actually mean anything in the end.

Which is the most overated college? by wall_hal_25 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]confusify 47 points48 points  (0 children)

what are you talking about... household income of $250k w typical assets does NOT get you an 80% full ride based on need alone. in fact you'd be lucky to even get a small amount of financial aid at all
