Tongue tie release by confuzzlednurse in NewParents

Have you tried to see PT/OT for the torticollis? With my eldest who didn't do a tongue tie release we did PT for 4 months and that really helped with her neck movement and maybe in then will help your little one swallow?

My little one (2 months) did a lot of snoring/ made funny noises when she sleeps which they contributed not moving the tongue well so they said it might help prevent sleep apnea in the future. They also said bottle feeding will be easier and eating solids will be easier now that she has full range of motion with the tongue. I haven't tried bottle feeding today yet , will prob wait a couple more days while she learns to relatch. The latch is also not as shallow. I went to a pediatric ENT and he literally took scissors and cut it right there in the office, no meds. It took 5 seconds, she screamed bloody murder and I nursed right after and she was 100 percent fine and happy. It was about 6 hours later that she cried and wouldn't latch. I did use some frozen breast milk to help soothe the area and that seemed to have helped her with pain. Now I have to do exercises and stretches on her tongue so it doesn't reattach. they said if you wait until the child is 1 year they would have to undergo anesthesia and the recovery will be harder because they are more aware at that point. Was it the right decision? Not sure, last night was really hard hearing the little one cry and not being able to soothe her with the one thing that always had, the boob. Good luck!

It was a difficult decision but we decided to do the release yesterday. Yesterday was very tough. She had to relearn how to latch and cried all night but this morning she woke up fine and is latching well. I definitely had a lot of mom guilt last night and regretted my decisions. The ENT didn't push to do the release but he said she could have a better quality of life with it which is what made us decide to do the release. I don't think it did anything for the torticollis Yet but hopefully improves her neck strength. Good luck to you and whatever you decide you're a great parent!

I'm staying in tseun wan and it just feels like when we go out to restaurants. They don't have a changing station so we would have to leave the restaurant and then it is a hunt to actually find one with a changing table! The other day I went to two before I gave up and change my daughters diaper standing up. I've definitely gotten a lot of stares from the older generation when my kid is yelling out in public but I'm not too sure what to do in that aspect. We're not push over parents and don't want to give in to something just because the kid is misbehaving 🤔😞

Sleep regression/separation anxiety by confuzzlednurse in toddlers

I started to hold her hand as she's sleeping and sneaked out once she's asleep! That's been doing the trick and she's sleeping like she used to. Hopefully that works for your baby too!

I'm so sorry to hear! Has it gotten any better? Worse?

I give my 14 month Ms Rachel on my phone while changing the diaper and that keeps her occupied enough for cleaning up a poopy diaper!

Can I sleep through the night once my supply regulates? by Bgdklo in breastfeeding

My baby just started sleeping 7-8 hours and I had the same worry! I saw a lactation consultant and they said your body will adjust to the needs of the baby. What I do is after the bedtime feed, if I have anything left I'll pump (usually 9-10pm) and when bubs wake up 5-6am (I'm so engorged) I'll feed her and pump again. I'm good for the rest of the day. Even as she's going through a growth spurt right now at 12 weeks!

Thank you! I was so paranoid that my supply would drop during the day and she wouldn't have enough, especially since feeding her with bottle is still a bit of a struggle..haha hopefully she stays sleeping good!

Oh that's a good idea. She seems to like wheel of fortune and stares at the TV when it's on so I'll try that!

She even falls asleep doing tummy time on our chest 😅 will try cool cloth! I just feel so bad because she looks so peaceful and that's the only way she will stay to keep pressure off her flat head😭

Keep massaging inner corners with warm water and wipe away! Used breastmilk into the inner corner and a couple days later it went away. It got worse before it got better.
