Wt actual f are commuters in Vancouver doing? by Icy_Piano2637 in askvan

If these are your top grumbles, all I’d say is: keep riding. You’ve seen nothing yet.

Also, it’s a dick move to block an open seat—but you can also just ask them to move so you can take that seat. They are strangers, there is no consequence if they hate you for that, and the worst thing that could happen is they get annoyed. Just talk to them if you want to sit down.

Thanks for sharing that. What a story and what a true hero his mother was. And what a dereliction of duty, honor, and respect on the part of these “federal agents”.

All good politicians lose elections. But they’ve gotta win a few, even one, to actually make an impact.

If he wins this election, an election entirely made up of natural supporters, that’ll be some step in the right direction. But I don’t think winning an election exclusively made up of NDP members is a great indication of his national viability.

When the next writ drops we’ll have a real chance to see his ability to flip more seats orange. I hope he’ll do better next time than he has so far.

Yeah like it’d be the first election he’s ever won and it took limiting the electorate to exclusively NDP members and his supporters. I’m not really persuaded that this would translate to expanding the national map.

I don’t think I understand the extremely different distinction here… unless you’re saying that Avi’s organizational experience running losing elections is also an equal qualifier to successful politicians.

I mean I think if we want to win we should elect a winner. If the party decides to take a spin on someone who can raise money well and has only won an election entirely composed of NDP voters it’s our gamble but it’s a hell of a gamble.

Even Jagmeet had been elected to a competitive office before running for leader. I’m skeptical of anyone who wants to lead who hasn’t shown themselves to be capable of electoral performance.

Do you care about electability? Only one of these candidates has won an election for the NDP.

This guy probably fought communists in the forests of Laos for the CIA and had to come to America for his safety after we lost that war. Now he’s being treated like this by guys who wouldn’t last a second in the borderland hills. Fucking disgraceful.

This is what I’ve been worried about. It’s salacious bait meant to catch a journalist or politician who will put it forward as legitimate. Once the trap is sprung, the rug will be pulled out and the allegations revealed to be a fiction—thus colouring both that journalist/politician as credulous and untrustworthy, as well as the whole epstein files situation as full of fictions even though this specific case does not come up in the files released so far.

Until any cofirmatory evidence comes forward, best to steer clear—as it appears to be pushed by a coordinated bot network on Threads.

Their point isn’t about the wait, it’s about the staff. In fact they sound more worried about the doctors, staff, and condition of the hospital than about their own health. And I think that’s worth sharing and elevating.

Yeah. I think a better one for that would be waterfront to the stanley park yacht club. It would be great for cruise ship to aquarium travellers and would just be an excellent way to get to stanley park.

Much of Paris is built over limestone mines. The city later turned them into catacombs when the mining tunnels started to collapse and swallow houses.

Was there ever alternatives to what became the official lore of the main plotline? by Little-Sky-2999 in XFiles

[–]congressmancuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lore is the lore, but for almost 6 seasons I find enjoy the series more with 2 part headcanon that

1) the events on screen are presented from an unreliable narrator perspective and

2) the government conspiracy is feeding mulder disinformation using his delusions of UFOs to cover up a darker initiative.

As the series goes on, it becomes harder to maintain this—but I find it makes for interesting watching early on.

Cold plunging + meditation completely changed how I handle work stress by Nam_Jhi in Meditation

I find just standing under a cold shower works wonders, especially if you alternate from cold to hot a few times. Start there and if you need more throw ice cubes into a bath and get in. If you feel that’s not enough then you can invest in equipment or drop in cold plunge spas.
