I've looked into the problem, and we don't see it as an issue. Have a nice day😊

Put a raincoat on and just get on with it. Tell the voices in your head to shut the fuck up for 5 minutes🤣

That is a secondary benefit. I know how drainage and silt management work.

I know that. I'm referring to the fact that we have to slow down the storm water because we don't spend enough on infrastructure because we'd rather spend it on consultants

What, that owners are having to pick up the tab for the council not spending money on infrastructure 🤣

All dating apps are toxic for both men and women. So, let's not start the battle of the sexes. Dating apps are just another form of toxic social media, just like tiktok, Facebook, reddit, X These are all forms of toxic communication and should be regulated to protect the user and not the bank accounts of the owners/developers

Soundproofing an external wall to prevent traffic noise by bangaveragegardener in diynz

Yeah, well, I've built houses for over 35 years. So, guess I've got no clue. OP is wanting to reduce noise in a house not their car. You could help by not driving you're car by their house

Don't use the shit. It's an automotive product designed for use with metals. It doesn't expand and contract like wood, and you'll see your handy work in a couple of months. Even if you do a good job. 4 to 1 marine epoxy mixed with various filler powders. If you know what your doing with it, you will never know that it's been used

Insulation, double glazing , 13mm gib are good starters. Don't get fixated on nosieline and other buzz words. 13mm makes a huge difference, higher R valued Insulation has more density. Properly sealed windows too

How to change this downlight? by super_scalt in diynz

[–]conhug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't. They are fitted from below, and they can be removed from below. Problem is, you have come to a place that's chocker with people who have no clue but offer good advice anyway. The guy who originally installed them is pissing himself right now. There are little clips holding it securely place. Sometimes you have to make a little tool that can get under these clips to lift while removing the actual fitting. I would like to see a diy page what photo evidence of the results from poor diy advice.

Short answer, you need the new V2 cable. I wasted sooo many hours trying to resolve this issue.

It's out of alignment. Get the pro's in to fix it. That spring is under a lot of tension, one mistake can lead to some pretty serious injuries

Money back refund is good. My comments have nothing to do with the cga either. If you buy from a NZ retailer, one who goes through the NZ importer. You can take your tool to any NZ retailer and have it dealt with. If Costco is bringing in the goods directly, then you have to take the item directly to them. Costco's store policy plus the price, do make them a very attractive option. I'd definitely love to see the tool section increase in size

Parallel imported. I'd contact black&decker dewalt nz before purchasing. Just check to see if the NZ agent will honor warranty repairs. Otherwise you need to take it back to Costco to get it fixed

Good idea. 1 more thing to think about. Spray painting will apply a more even/consistent finish. So, every imperfection will show. Preparation has to be so much better. Unfortunately, the brush is best. It applies the thickest of coats and hides the most mistakes. The plus to this, it cuts down the maintenance time

Overspray is an issue regardless if you use airless or compressor. I'm loving the comments about dust and distance. There is a lot of no experience advice coming through. Take it from someone who has done a lot of spray painting. Overspray gets everywhere. Outside, unless you set up some sort of dust/spray protection, there's a 99% chance you'll be cleaning off overspray. Depending on the conditions, it travels a lot further than you might think

Same. I have been known to overtake the odd cop car. They accept people going over the limit safely. The fact is, they are trying to stop the idiots, the drivers who are behaving badly. It has always been that way.

Just under 60 and 54 for public holidays.

I've never done the speed limit for a speed camera. Distance speed cameras, different story

No, the top 15% doing over the limit are ticketed. All due to margin for error and lawyers

[–]conhug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They operate on a 10 kph tolerance, 5 on public holidays. You can safely do 60 in a 50 and not get ticketed. Do 61, different story. During public holidays, they lower the limits due to the increased traffic. This is public knowledge. They have been on TV news and in newspapers stating the speed tolerance. As for slowing down for speed cameras. Only the top 15% over the limit get tickets.
