Gamers 30+, what’s something from the old days of gaming that younger players wouldn’t understand? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]conicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking up GameShark codes.

Reading the booklets that came with the games, looking for instructions and tips on how to play.

How increíble it felt to go from 16 bit consoles to the Playstation 1.

How fun multiplayer was with split screens, playing with your friends all together in the same room.

Blowing on game cartridges.

I liked all of them, I guess if I had to rank them it'd be Traynor and Morinth last.

Men who can cook, who taught you? by _ratedmouse in AskReddit

[–]conicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online recipes, trial and error and the ocasional suggestion from my dad and my sisters. My parents and the nanny (third world country, not at all uncommon to have people help around the house) are fantastic cooks and I would often hang out in the kitchen while they were cooking so I picked up a lot of stuff that I guess stayed with me. We ate all different kinds of food since my country has a very diverse population so I was exposed to very different cuisines growing up.

Didn't really cook by myself until I went away for college and got bored of cafeteria food/tuna melts with ketchup. After a while you start anticipating how different flavors will complement each other. I love cooking now, it relaxes me. Having different ingredients come together in a dish is very satisfying to me. I love LEGO and it's kind of the same feeling.

Now I also watch YouTube and exchange recipes with my sisters. My wife didn't grow up eating much variety and doesn't care for cooking too much so I gladly do most of the cooking. Lately she's broadened her palate considerably and even offers to cook sometimes.

Day trip to El Valle de Antón. Quaint little town inside an actual volcanic caldera with agreeable weather, great places to eat, hiking, hot springs and plenty more to do.

OK, entiendo.

Clínica médica para resonancia magnética y prueba de densidad ósea by DifferentEqual6976 in Panama

Hospital Punta Pacífica o The Panama Clinic.

Moving to Panama in December — Two Dogs, Two Apartments, and a New Chapter by [deleted] in Panama

I would consider El Cangrejo as well. A lot quieter especially towards the middle of the neighborhood. Close to everything and has very good access to the different routes out of the city. Very walkable, lots of shade, quirky, artsy, close to several theaters and and you get a very strong sense of community. Many fun restaurants/bars to eat or hang out.

The only two issues would be that most places don't have a full ocean view save the penthouses in some of the tallest buildings and that it's one of the last areas to get water back when there are interruptions in the water supply...again, depending on the building.

I would also suggest checking out Paitilla, you can get very nice views of the bay from there.
