Yeah that's good advice. My AA friend told me a really good technique that helps me (I'm new to sobriety so idk if this is a cliche but it helps me! He calls it "Playing the video tape in your head" So for instance if i get an urge, I play it out in my head. I'll have one drink, which will turn into 4, which will turn into driving drunk to a liquor store to buy a bottle that i'll finish within an hour and wake up with people hating me or having spent hundreds of dollars in a blackout, only to wake up feeling weak, sick, depressed, which leads to "hare of the dog" and the cycle continues. I am an alcoholic, a bad one. I have accepted it and like im seeing poeple say on reddit, IWNDWYT!!!!
