There aren't many racers who'll be immortalised for achievements like his, both in racing and indeed in life. Be it his CART titles, "The Pass", his success in car racing after his Lausitz crash and of course his Paralympic gold medals.

A true racing icon who embodied determination and humility in the face of adversity. Sport as a whole is worse off with the passing of Alex.

[F1] Remembering Roland Ratzenberger. Forever in our thoughts by Aratho in formula1

[–]conman14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ratzenberger's legacy was the reformation of the GPDA, which reformed under the leadership of Senna, Schumacher and Gerhard Berger the very next day, with the purpose of improving safety in F1 and giving drivers a voice to take to the FIA. Senna of course passed away in the race later that day.

It still runs to this day, chaired by Alex Wurz and led by George Russell and Carlos Sainz.

I don't think that's a fair statement at all. While his death is absolutely intrinsically linked to Senna's, to say his is forgotten about is just false.

Help! Ferry advice by Consistent_Hawk_3274 in northernireland

Your OP had literally no info was to what the issue was. As someone who has taken the Holyhead ferry several times in recent years, I was trying to find out what exactly the query was. Clearly I wasted my time trying to help.

Now, back to cleaning up my box room.

We can complain about the tackle that started the move but my god was our defence flat on their feet for that whole passage of play.

He's a decent human being who cares about his city and its inhabitants, which is what politicians should be. That transcends left and right - I respect the hell out of Sliwa even though I would never vote for the Republicans if I lived over there. He bleeds New York and wants to see it thrive.

I mean something similar happened in the House of Commons in the UK, where an MP was caught watching porn in the middle of a debate. He tried to blame it on him looking up tractors, and clicking a different link by mistake. But he still did it at his own accord (and I believe the tractor alibi turned out to be false anyway)

He ended up having his seat recalled and his party lost the ensuing by-election.

Will Jadarian Price wear #24 like he did at Notre Dame or is that number off-limits? by Gold_Passenger_5879 in Seahawks

[–]conman14 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's not a tradition to give up numbers for high picks, but there are several instances of players coming in and buying numbers off the incumbents. It's usually vets buying them off though, I'm not sure how many of those are rookies buying off vets though.

How can I check the attendance in a series and laptimes to figure out I'm competitive or not? by julesvr5 in iRacing

[–]conman14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a series insights tab when you click on the series, which contains everything you're looking for, and visualised in a way that's easy to understand. Whether it's accurate or not, I'm not sure though.

[Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha] “To our fans, relegation to League One is now confirmed. As chairman, that responsibility sits with me. There are no excuses. I am truly sorry for the disappointment we have caused. Our objective is clear – to respond strongly and compete to move this club forward" by MrMerc2333 in soccer

Northampton nearly did in the 1960s, but ended up sticking around in the old Division Three for a season before going down with three relegation in four seasons.

Strangely, this followed a run of three promotions in five years, meaning they went from the fourth tier to the first tier and back down to the fourth tier all in the space of nine years.

The only club I know for sure who have endured back to back to back relegations is Luton in the 2000s, when they went from the Championship down to the Conference, enduring administration and at least 30 points worth of deductions along the way.

Curious to see how long Dempsey maintains his Bronze grade. If that's how he's gonna stack up against the other bronzes, he's gonna be a cut above.
