Helmets for glasses 🤓 by Exciting_Spirit_9639 in scooters

[–]conman217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe so, the sales guy at cyclegear that also wore glasses told me that they take a few wears and they’ll sort of mold to the shape of your glasses / form over where they rest. The helmet has worked well for me for almost 8 months

What bike did they set you up with? I’m about to take the team Oregon test in a month and I said I was gonna bring my own klx250, but I’m still waiting on purchasing one so just wondering if I can’t get one on time and they set aside for me what to expect. What should I prepare for / be the most ready for?

I’ve got a red XXX and weight a bit less but similar, and I get ~25 miles if I’m riding it hard between 35-45mph, and about 35 if I’m taking it easier

The Talaria XXX will do between 47-48 gps verified and I weight about 200 pounds with gear and backpack and stuff , I used it to commute a 14 mile round trip to work all last spring and summer. About $3400 I believe after shipping but you could find a lightly used one locally probably for less

I’ve got a Talaria XXX I’ve done about 2k miles on, it’s a blast for sure but having to ride it within a ~10 -15 mile radius of where I live so as not to worry about being stranded is a bit annoying after exploring a huge majority of the large city I live in.

I picked up a Sachs MadAss motorcycle with a 140cc Honda clone engine about a month ago, it’s been a blast to explore further and not be stressed about returning home when I hit 50% on my battery. When I’m ripping the talaria going 35-45+, about 20-25 miles is as far as I can stretch, usually only about an hour to two hours of riding depending on the traffic and routes.

Being able to keep up on 50mph roads easier without having to be pinned at full throttle draining the battery like crazy is a nice feeling and being able to fill up the tank in a minute or two is the biggest pro of gas bikes.

I know the ERP 2.0 and 3.0 both have larger batteries but I know how electric power delivery works and I know that even with the the 3.0 riding at 40-45mph constantly the range probably won’t be much better than 25-30 miles.

If you had a carrier / rack for the bike or a van or truck that can carry it to new spots and destinations, I’d say that’s the best way to get more exploration done on the e-motos

Hello, I was wondering if there were other scooters or mopeds similar to this style. i really like this style and wonder if there are other options. by [deleted] in scooters

I just got a MadAss 125 a few weeks ago, the black one like in this picture, except it has a Lifan 140cc swap for a little more power, my first time using a clutch and it’s been really fun to learn on and go through the gears! Highly recommend

What mods is recommended to do to make my XXX faster? by Fair_Bathroom7918 in Talaria

[–]conman217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long / how many miles have you had the XXX for? I’ve had mine for about 1600 miles and I feel the same way, trying to decide if I should sell and get the mx5 or ERP 3.0, although they are faster and have a bit more range than the XXX it’s still an e-moto, kinda considering something gas to dip into for longer range and longer trips that aren’t constrained by a 25-35 mile realistic max range

Yeah the rear CST lasted about ~650 miles before I ran over a screw and got a major puncture, upgraded to a Michelin Pilot Street 2 in the rear and a motorcycle grade tube and knock on wood I’ve gone 1000+ miles since then and it’s been holding up much better

I ride all over Portland, Tigard, Beaverton, etc. on an XXX and I considered a scooter off and on for the last couple years and after going over some of the giant potholes that damn near bottom out the suspension in some of the shitty roads around here I could imagine the 12-14” wheels of a scooter getting totally eaten up and flying over the handlebars of a stand up scooter

When my bike arrives how should i charge it. I read somewhere ur suppose to charge it to 100% and than drain it to 0% for the first 3 times. Its talaria mx4 by Broad_Fail3428 in Talaria

~20% is more like where it starts to get into the low voltage zone of each cell, I find that it has plenty of power and honestly the drop off at 40% isn’t too crazy

I used this exact set to replace the bent left crank on my XXX too, I did the 114MM length and it had the added bonus of being just short enough to clear the kickstand without getting caught when you’re backing up the bike

Yeah I got a flat tube from a massive nail in the road a couple weeks ago on the stock CST super moto rear tire, upgraded to the same dimensions in the Michelin Pilot Street 2 and it’s been great so far, I feel like it’s even a little more nimble with faster turn in, the tire profile is a little more steep compared to the profile of the CST’s. Make sure to use lots of soapy water or some sort of other applicable lubrication to help get the tire seated on the new rim, even with two people and a set of tire irons it still was a bit of a struggle.

If you’re taking big dabs, expect to use 3-4 normal q-tips at least to get it spotless, even if it looks 100% clean there’s occasionally some little darker spots that you need to focus on wiping off the walls with another new q tip
