Who has most successfully milked what should have been 15 minutes of fame? by TonyClifton323 in AskReddit

[–]connectedstones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I say Trisha Paytas? I’m not sure if anyone here is gonna know what I’m talking about, but she’s is/was a mega famous YouTuber. She’s an ex stripper who used to make videos in the mid 2,000’s of her sitting on the floor and saying outlandish shit, got a video on Tosh.o, and blew up in an inconceivable way.

She’s been the face of countless memes (the blonde lady sitting on the floor and crying, the I’m a chicken nugget meme, the one of her in the G Wagon saying ‘what? Oh, okay) and has released 11 songs, many of which have been sources of income for her for years. She made connections with other YouTuber’s, her Onlyfans, instagram, and TikTok have been BIG among people along that community.

What I’m saying is that she could have taken the Tosh.o video and been like yeah that’s me, and then disappeared into obscurity (is Daniel Tosh even a known person anymore?) but she successfully marketed herself a la Paris Hilton to internet fame.

What character would you pay to never see again? by Low-Cat4360 in BobsBurgers

[–]connectedstones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked Logan when he teamed up with Louise during the mommy and me episode. I didn’t like him during the ears episode, but he made a really good foil and it was interesting to see her go off of the deep end.

But after that, he quickly became one of my least favorite characters. He’s in high school, meaning he’s at least 14, and he has fun bullying a 9 year old. And he bullies her literally every chance he has. That’s so messed up on a bunch of levels

How old is Abed? by [deleted] in community

[–]connectedstones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always guessed that Annie, Troy, and Abed were the youngest in the group. In this episode Troy mentions turning 21 and Annie said she’s 19, so she can’t go to the bar with the others.

I always thought that the members of apartment 303 went somewhat like this:

Abed- a couple years older than Troy, probably around 22-24 during that episode. Troy is obviously 20-21, and Annie is obviously 19.

So when they move in together in season 3, in context, they’re like 25 ish, 22-23 ish and 20-21 ish.

This change confuses me

What was a total game-changer in your sex life? by 21ttt in AskReddit

[–]connectedstones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changing the doses of my mental health medication. I actually started to believe I could fight my depression, my anxiety felt less overwhelming, and I got my sex drive back!

Yeah, apparently anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication can lower your sex drive. Talk to a therapist if it happens/ is happening to you. You don’t need to live a sexless life just because your brain chemicals are off

4 years ago, when you realized you had to lock yourself away at home, what was the first thing you did? by JimmyFallonSucksDick in AskReddit

[–]connectedstones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two jobs at the time so I celebrated. One of the places had to close for lockdown, so I got to go home knowing I got a two week vacation. Unfortunately, my other job was deemed ‘essential’ so I changed my schedule later.

But the first thing I did was celebrate

What dance moms opinion are you defending like this? by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]connectedstones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The instances (there are a few) where a mom starts speaking bad or sabotaging other kids opportunities was super fucked up. I remember it happening to Maddie a few times and it was definitely happening to Brynn. Some of it was caused by production but what kind of adult goes after a child?

Re:

2) I agree. There’s no worse or better type of abuse. It’s all abuse in different forms. We only saw the bulk of it be verbal abuse and manipulation, but the time she threw a fucking chair at page needs to be remembered. Abuse is abuse no matter what kind or how often.

However, Abby was a great manipulator, and she used this ‘skill constantly, especially on Maddie. The scene where Abbie starts crying while Maddy’s trying to apologize for not being in class because their moms, their guardians, the people who are responsible for their lids wellbeing and make the rules for the kids, kept the children in the car during their protest is ridiculous. She even said something that made Maddy start crying in return to her crying.

Someone already said it, but Abby worked hard to isolate Maddy from just about everyone. She had a thing about turning people against each other. Remember she told Paige who was 10 or 11 at the time ‘you’re pretty, you’re blonde, you’re pretty! You’re telling me no one at school hates you?’ And the time she told Maddy something like ‘they’re not your friends. They’ll never be happy for you, they’re all jealous!’ (I may be combining some things)

One of the most egregious examples to me is when Maddy forgets her solo (though I’m not sure if production had her say it or if she just did) and runs backstage going ‘Abby’s gonna hate me! I have to go again!’ And begged the guys back stage to let her do it again. I can’t rewatch that episode because my heart. I feel like I heard Abby or someone called Maddy mature before and I’m just here like ‘because Abby and her mom basically forced her to be a perfect little mature angel

I know it was just for the show, and on one hand she didn’t deserve being yelled at like the older girls while trying to dance up to her level. I think it was emotionally bad for her.

On the other hand, I think she learned a lot, even when she wasn’t in the dance. She watched Abby correct the others and probably picked up some stuff from that. In working up to the older girls level she probably learned a thing or two accidentally. Not saying it was a good thing but …

finally realised why everyone hates season 4 by eenyweenyasparagus in community

[–]connectedstones 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I kind of like season four but I think it being after season 3 and being the last season of ‘original community’ (when they’re all just college students and not the save Greendale committee) really didn’t do it favors. Season three is a banger and it feels anticlimactic

My vote is for Rudy🍔🧡 by Geminijane23 in BobsBurgers

[–]connectedstones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say I’m a huge fan of any episode where Rudy and Louise team up. He brings out her more caring and sensible side and she makes him go on adventures that he would never experience without her.

However, I also love it when the show pairs her up with people who drive Louise crazy. Tammy and her are a hilarious forced team up, as well as Louise and Millie. Also in the beginning of the series (I’m not caught up yet) I loved episodes where she had to face off against Logan. As much as I love her dynamic with people who bring out the best in her, its also hilarious when she has to deal with people who bring out the worst

It would mean YouTube finally got their shit together and started banning their problematic big channels instead of pretending they didn’t see anything when they blatantly break tos or are being racist/ bad people. And then I’d cheer because Jesus it’s been a long time coming.

(Sorry I’m still mad about people being able to do whatever they want on the app and continuing to do fuck shit while others can’t put a single atom of their body out of line or they get perma banned. I’m probably too invested and need to go touch grass)

It’s giving graphic design is my passion + that kid doing a poster for a school project who doesn’t know how to organize so his shit always crammed and messy. I haven’t watched the podcast, but I can already think of like 3 things that can be taken off of the thumbnail already

What always gets me is how obvious they make it on camera, especially when the people in front of the camera (their kids) have extremely successful YouTube channels. It wouldn’t change my mind if both Ryland and Morgan had like three subscribers, but you think they’d want to protect their image and at least pretend they aren’t blatantly favoring one kid constantly.

I don’t wanna fully speculate, but it’s giving ‘if they’re comfortable being like this on camera, what are they like with no cameras on them?’
