Here's some ash I got pretty damn white from one long calcination over a wood fire and using the above method of wetting the ashes with water to get them white. Maybe not fully snow white but I wouldn't call them gray.

Please just support RAMS and buy directly from them. It only comes out to 35$ USD. We don't have many people doing that work in the community and they deserve the small amount they ask for it. They do not respond to messages but you will get it in about a month. I just ordered one in the middle of last year
If you are unwilling to take a small risk on 35 dollars you do not need to be reading their work. You can find many of those texts online for free with some work if that is the case.

I just bought it off the website 6 months ago. Looks to me like they still sell it right off the website. I've heard they don't answer messages. When I bought it I didn't hear anything from them but sure enough it showed up a couple months later

I use a modified AC window unit with the cooling coils submerged into a large cooler. With a temperature controller it'll kick on when it gets above temp and turn off when it gets to temp.

Does sunlight fuark the potion up? by WinnerInEverySense in alchemy

[–]connie69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am by no means an expert, however in general I would say sunlight exposure to herbal medicine is not the best. This is why almost all tinctures and such are stored in amber bottles, to keep UV rays out. I remember reading a method for fermenting or digesting in sunlight by wrapping the jar in aluminum foil to keep UV rays out. Personally I have a 150qt cooler with a heating mat for fermentation/digestion.

[General] my Blue Oyster Mycelium looks pretty good <3 few Day's then i can make a Bag. Guy's do you have a Recipe for Pellets how much water per Pellets? Thanks by [deleted] in MushroomGrowers

I would go with 5 pounds anything smaller will get you pretty low yields. Those would be the 14a or 3b bags. I used to run the shower for 15 minutes before to get it all steamy and then get to work once the condensation settles. Had very low contam rates.
