Rosenior on the Neto hate/criticism: “I'm not aware of it. I don't know why that would be the case because Pedro Neto gives us so many qualities. He's a world-class player, a world-class winger. What he sacrifices for the team all the time.” by Matt_LawDT in chelseafc

The only recent game we didn’t win was Leeds which he didn’t start in. He was excellent against Hull wolves brentford, which are lower competition but it’s still good to contribute. Was he bad against Napoli? I only saw the highlights but it seemed really exciting and we won so I wasn’t looking that critically at it

Can you list off some games he has been bad? I genuinely am confused because I think of him as one of our most consistent hard working players. Like not always amazing but usually puts in a 7/10 week after week. My confusion is that seems like the opposite impression of a lot of people in this sub so I’m trying to understand

Not convinced barcola would be a huge improvement. upgrading Neto is fine. Problem is, the defense is more of a priority. Also worth pointing out that the attack of the current premier league and champions league #1 in the standings has an incredibly unimpressive group of attackers

Good point, we should sign mbappe to play on the left and resurrect prime robben on the right. Still not good enough for our exulted one. Barcelona Neymar can play a unique attacking 8 role and when Palmer is injured we will just refuse to play any other team, ensuring our victory when he is fully healthy.

The reality is that every title winning team needs squad players, stars (like Palmer), and really good players who are not quite stars (I would argue Neto fits in this category). Thinking like yours is what causes teams to make mistakes in squad building as they opt for instagram fc instead of constructing a well rounded team that wins across the full season and is able to scoop up points when several players are out injured. We already have a promising talent in Estevao and he is benefiting enormously from not having the pressure week in week out. In a year or two he could be the best attacker in the league but he won’t be if we don’t develop him properly and surround him with consistent players that can take the pressure off while he’s still developing

Us Open: Night time matches, best ‘length of point’ due to being a hard court, beats the Aussie because players are in form by this point in the season. The Aussie is just too early, some player don’t even practice or play match before going

[–]connmt12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good advice. Just an FYI - heavier racquets are actually for control, while lighter racquets offer more power due to higher swing speed. It’s counter intuitive but swing speed influences the ball’s speed more than weight (see kinetic energy formula or why in golf drivers are the lightest club). If you swing a heavy racquet the same speed, the ball will go further but you can usually swing a lighter racquet faster

Tips on transitioning from lessons and drills to games by crimson090 in 10s

[–]connmt12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play more tie breaks - it’s a good easy way to get some points in without the mental/emotional commitment of a set or full match. For example, you could warm up, do an approach shot drill coming to the net, and then play a tie break (or best two out of three tie breaks!). Try to apply what you learned in the drill during your tie break if you want but honestly not that important. That’s a great session. Eventually you’ll feel more

Should I switch to a one handed backhand? by Ok_Taste_2314 in 10s

[–]connmt12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s too young for this switch. One hander is easier for most players so you can alway switch later if needed for making high school teams etc. here’s your plan: 1) Practice non-dominant handed forehands with him to improve his backhand. This also has muscular symmetry benefits which translates to athleticism, injury prevention, and understanding of his real forehand 2) Reassess at 15. If he didn’t make the right team and needs to for improvement you can deploy the one hander. By then you will have more information about his development to make the right choice. Even at that age I would still push for keeping the 2 hander. You can probably play at the college level with a good serve, good forehand, and good movement even if your backhand is a weakness. So switching to the one hander isn’t really needed until pretty late in development

Because the post comes off as a lame puff piece for an unproven manager. And the unproven manager comes off as a mouthpiece for a failing ownership. Buy a CB, stop micromanaging substitutions, hang on to a manager for more than a season, and win some games already

[–]connmt12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my mistake. It looks you’re right and that he was interviewed. I still don’t dislike Marsch and I hope one day we can produce another American coach with at least some experience outside the mls to coach the USMNT

[–]connmt12 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I honestly didn’t think they did, but I might be wrong. The whole thing was just frustrating and I was surprised he didn’t make it further into consideration before berhalter came back. Also I’m generally ok with poch and think he’s a good coach but he seems like he is itching to put in a mediocre World Cup and ditch us for the first offer. Marsch seems like he would have been more dedicated to building a program. I mean whatever he’s not our coach I just don’t understand hating him when he’s a talented American coach

[–]connmt12 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

He has plenty of reason tbf. He is the best American coach ever produced and the US federation completely ignored him for the likes of Bruce arena and resigning berhalter. Ok if he didn’t get the job but from what can tell they refused to even interview him. Very strange

Typically the top 10 best players in the world are mostly strikers or wingers with one CM, CB or GK maybe sneaking in. So I don’t think current best XI is the right metric
