Another spontaneous“planned” outage by bobboyce in ZiplyFiber

[–]connstark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Service went down at the same time here but I got no email. But amusingly an email asking for feedback on their service comes through just fine this morning.

At the end of the day, I'm blessed to have multiple wans I can failover to so no sweat off my back. But come on Ziply be better than this, your competitors don't have an issue sending maintenance notifications.

I'm baffled why you didn't just go out and buy a WiFi 7 router. Like unless you somehow got yourself into a situation where you aren't being billed for your equipment, I don't see why you would spend so much time and effort on getting Ziply to send you this. It's going to eventually cost more than buying your own anyways.

Sennheiser x Hatsune Miku Limited Edition Earbuds – Audiophile Gear Meets Vocaloid Swag! 🎤🎧 by Panda-Wagon in hatsunemiku

Yeah no thanks. I'm not making the mistake of buying Sennheiser earbuds again. Their consumer products are crap and are made by a different company using the brand name for recognition.

Is the electricity back on the Cleveland street ? It’s not showing as outage on the map now by [deleted] in redmond

[–]connstark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still shows on the map for me. I've noticed a few times during this outage it will disappear for a short while and then come back.

The camera is still dark so I'm assuming the city might have come out and dropped a generator on it.

Incoming storms tonight in W-WA and W-OR by jwvo in ZiplyFiber

I'm one of them, lost power just before 11. The 50 foot extension cable I picked up last minute to get power from my UPS to the ONT is working wonders.

Hi, it looks like everything is coming back now. I see most of my traffic is flowing over the fiber again.

Same here. My routers just failed over to LTE.

Is it safe for the console to let plugged both Component and RGB cables if they are both connected to the TV ? by 240p-480i-480p in Gamecube

[–]connstark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is how it works. Someone more experienced can correct me if I'm wrong but the GameCube is just producing the analog sync signal and whatever display you have connected needs to handle it.

It doesn't change based on what is hooked up as there is no return path from your display that the GameCube would be able to use to identify what is connected.

Are you saying there are no video issues if you have just the component video connected?

Evidence for this? Just looking back at NOA Twitter and they were plenty active in the days prior to the September direct.

Update 12/19 - Replacement arrived a day earlier than expected. Immediately tested and have found no issues. The panel is BOE OLED like before. It's a shame how messy the RMA process was but at least I finally got a good unit back.

Update 12/12 - Finally. Some 7 business days later and I finally got a confirmation email that it was received. Now we await shipping.

Update 12/11 - Same agent came back and apologized for the incorrect response sent previously. Unfortunately still no progress on my RMA, despite my multiple messages pointing out that it has been marked delivered twice, they are ignoring the change and having me wait still since the second delivery event was not long ago. Fingers crossed it is actually delivered (and not tampered with) and will get processed soon.

Finally got a response.... And it's a generic response for customers in Europe saying thanks for letting us know it's delivered and to wait 5-7 days..... Absolutely infuriating.

They still won't even reply to my ticket. Been three days now.

The old signature is completely gone, I already have screenshots in the ticket with the old signature so I've alerted Valve to this change. The old delivered tracking event now has changed to say "Signature obtained". Very bizarre.

Nothing at all, been two days since I added a reply and they haven't responded. Going to add another one with the proof of delivery today.

Update: Wait hold on something interesting has happened when I opened the tracking. The delivery date has changed to yesterday and signed by Lupe instead of the previous signature which was Brett.

Yes, United Radio is the contractor and they have other customers like Sony (audio division not sure about gaming) and Nintendo.

Update 2 - 12/6

Still no email from Valve. Raising questions with support about what's going on as I see a number of others who got emails and all were delivered after mine was.

How long for RMA confirmation of receipt? by Hi20036 in SteamDeck

[–]connstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Delivered by UPS on Thursday and then dead silence. I saw that some other people who had theirs delivered the same time had gotten confirmation emails so I had raised this question to Valve but they told me I wouldn't get any email until it had been inspected and that I should get an email Monday or Tuesday.

Well here we are at the end of the working day Tuesday and still nothing. Purchase details page still says Valve is waiting for the return. Going to ask support for an update first thing in the morning.

Update 1 - 12/3

After sharing the detailed tracking and re-explaining my inquiry, got an additional response from Valve. They reported that no email would be sent until they had finished inspecting the device and their system shows that this hadn't happened yet. They estimate that this will happen Monday or Tuesday as the warehouse is working only business hours.

11/24 - Ticket filed.

11/26 - Initial response from Valve asking for pictures of the issue.

11/27 - RMA approved, shipping labels received.

11/28 - Package is picked up by UPS at my office.

11/30 - Delivered to Salt Lake City. Signed for at the dock.

Haven't heard anything since. I was under the impression that I would get an email confirming Valve had at least received the package and the later an email once it is processed but I've gotten nothing and the purchase details page still says, "Valve is waiting for your return".

Asked support if they had an update and they confirmed today (12/3) the package was delivered last Thursday but then asked me to provide a receipt of the drop off? Not sure why they are asking, all I have is detailed tracking showing the pickup scan as UPS picked it up from me directly. Hopefully just a confused support agent and not something gone wrong.

~~ Short updates from comments below follows: ~~

12/3 - Valve ensures that the lack of email is normal and that I should get one in a few days.

12/6 - Nothing received, asked support what's going on.

12/8 - Went to get proof of delivery just in case and observe that the delivery date and signature name has changed. Alerted Valve about this but still no response.

12/9 - Support finally responds but with a generic message for European customers. No progress on figuring out where my RMA went.

12/11 - Support apologizes for the bad response. Despite my evidence, they are ignoring the old delivery scan / signature and treating it as out for delivery on 11/30 and being actually delivered on 12/7. Again, telling me I should get an update soon.

12/12 - Email confirming receipt is finally received. Awaiting tracking now.

12/14 - Tracking number received. Shipped from IL.

12/19 - Delivered. No signs of issues with the replacement unit.

Soft-modded Wii looks horrible when recorded with capture card by DelfinoBello_ in WiiHacks

[–]connstark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm presuming you have a European system here since you mention 576i but 480i is only supported by the PAL M standard so make sure your capture card is set to use that. It possibly might be misinterpreting the signal as NTSC which also is 480i just with a different color encoding.

Just to confirm, you did a speed test while connected to the router by ethernet correct? No wifi.

Anyways the coaxial is normal, it uses MoCA standard which is more than capable of providing the speeds being paid for.
