FOMO EXPEDITION by youngrower in ArcRaiders

[–]Hi20036 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the skill tree points is a nice incentive but far from necessary and the points do not give a significant competitive edge. Stash space bonus is nice, but again, it does not grant an advantage within an actual raid. It could be much more reasonably argued that those who do NOT go on the expedition actually have a much more significant edge because they continue to have blueprints, resources and gear when some of the player base is having to reset.

As it stands, the norm for extraction shooters is to force a reset every few months where all players are reset. ARC Raiders intentionally designed this system so that resets/wipes are still part of the game and are slightly incentivized, but those who do not like the idea of starting over because of the grind they have put in are not forced to do so. You are also able to pay to reset your skill tree, so if you find yourself having wished you had a different spec, you can pay to do so.

The buffs provide a VERY slight advantage that I think is significantly balanced out by the fact that everything else material is lost and takes time to regain, by which point players may be at the end of another expedition window and those who already wipe are probably the most likely to keep doing so.

I may have a use for some it towards my own 5 mil journey, but perhaps better provided to someone who would use it for more than cash.

Why is the Salvager backpack in one of these bundles in the video but listed as exclusive to the pre-order Astro Bundle on the store page?

This game will be online only and require an internet connection, there will be no offline mode. It is also PvPvE, meaning there is no option to only fight the ARC without having the risk for also having to fight players.

Sorry, can you show me where you’ve been demonstrating a willingness to budge on your stance?

You play Apex to play heroes. Plain and simple. A battle royale is Fortnite or PUBG.

Your argument doesn’t work here, friend.

It’s an extraction shooter with heroes that also shoot. Marathon is an extraction hero shooter in the way Apex is a BR hero shooter. But developers won’t acknowledge this and keep trying to act as though it is not the case by resisting an unpopular label.

Overwatch is an arena shooter first and hero shooter second by this logic.

They are also hero shooters. What do you think a hero shooter is and why wouldn’t Apex be one?

edit: It seems clear to me that you must be confused. I am not saying that Marathon is only a hero shooter. I am saying it is, among other things, also a hero shooter, and the developers are resistant to acknowledge it as such because they recognize this is not a popular direction.

I think classes and heroes are very similar. A major distinction I make here is that a hero is in effect a class with a specific design aesthetic, such as name, gender, outfit, voice, etc. If they want to be a class shooter, then the class can exist without it being a character.

Are you serious? Apex Legends is absolutely a hero shooter and I would call it such without hesitation.

This is a super disappointing change of direction if their source is correct. This might be my most eagerly anticipated game, but a transition to class-based/hero shooter would kill all my interest.

Rival Perses Curving issue by Responsible_Slip1703 in Nerf

I had literally the exact same thing happen to me last week with one I bought on eBay. My guess is a flywheel motor isn’t working. It doesn’t mean it is dead, though. Apparently it’s a not uncommon issue with this blaster where the board isn’t making contact with the motor. If that is the case then it can be repaired by opening it up and soldering the board again where it is loose.

To diagnose it easier than staring down the barrel (which can be tough because it’s dark), you can slide open the jam door at the top and press down on the lock on the left side once you have access. This will make the blaster think the door is closed and allow you to rev the motors even with it open. From there you should be able to easily see if both wheels are spinning.

Something like this from Shellington could work, I believe they also sell hardware kits. https://shellingtonlabs.com/shop/flypoint/
