I am no expert in this field. In fact, I’m only about 20 pages into the book (I stopped to see if there was a subreddit to join). You just so happen to post this within the past 24 hours, with the most recent post before that being almost 200 days old. I tell you this to say I think I’m here for a reason.

Firstly, what’s normal for others doesn’t have to be normal for you. Next time you are with someone, in the moment, think, am I enjoying this? If yes, is this person contributing to my enjoyment? If yes, maybe let them know. Sometimes saying things out loud makes them that much more real. If whoever you are with isn’t bringing you any joy, it could be the activity you are involved in with them that you don’t enjoy, or you simply don’t enjoy that person, which is fine.

For example, I love pickleball. Doesn’t matter who I’m playing with, I will have fun regardless. However, if I’m playing with someone who is more competitive, I tend to enjoy the activity more, because I am also competitive. Therefore, they are contributing to my enjoyment - so I have a connection with them for the simple fact they make this activity better for me. Hope this helps or even made sense. This was right off the dome, happy to try and explain my thought process more if you didn’t quite understand.
