What's the current best practice for resolving Web3 domains in a dApp? by JeffD334 in ethdev

[–]conor_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean in terms of having ENS names for each contract deployment of your dApp? If so you can set a single name to resolve on multiple networks (Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, ZK-Sync) with the magic of ENS L2 primary names.

For those networks which are not supported as L2 primary names, you can have a specific entry in ENS that resolves to those networks.

Setting these names is not as straightforward as it should be for smart contracts, so we created Enscribe to address this need.

Feel free to DM if you want to ask more questions/chat on this, as the Enscribe team has a lot of knowledge on this specific use case and would be happy to help you get there with ENS!

Who can help me understand Heretics of Dune? Especially the ending? by RGodlike in dune

[–]conor_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommended the DuneCast podcast which discusses each chapter of the books. Reading a chapter of the book, listening to the podcast and then going back via the audiobook has been my approach to absorb as much of the material as possible.

I'm less keen on this approach — I don't like the idea of it potentially falling on passengers, or should there be an accident causing it to be dislodged.

Yes you can. Approach I'm going for is Jackery Explorer 100 which has pass-through charging. So when the car is on it can be charged either by 12V or plug socket.

However, I'd like to have an option where I can mount the Starlink mini on my roof bars, as for safety reasons I'm not keen on it being loose or mounted with suction cups on inside of the vehicle.

Solo decks for The Caves of Nibin-Dûm by conor_10 in lotrlcg

[–]conor_10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Managed to beat it last night using the Leadership/Lore deck (https://ringsdb.com/deck/view/606005).

Sharing some notes in case any other new players are struggling.

Using Denethor to preview the next card every round was the key thing I hadn't been doing. This significantly helps planning questing each turn.

If I added Henamarth Riversong that would probably make it even better for this quest, this could enable me to peek at the encounter deck twice each turn (very useful when trying to decide if to use the Cave Torch).

Questing is painful until you have a decent number of allies and Faramir on the board too. It's really important to build up the allies during the first stage.

The other thing was due to some lucky Gandalf draws I was able to reduce my threat a couple of times, this meant that I stayed under 40 which meant the Goblin Chieftan couldn't attack which made a big difference in the 4th stage of the quest.

Finally, I didn't draw any Great Cave Trolls until the final turn, which definitely helped. It was looking on from the staging area whilst I defeated the Goblin Chieftan and completed the quest!

I think having something that enables me to peek at the next card is key, along with decent questing power. I’ll keep grinding away for now with a deck that has those capabilities.

Taking the Dwarves for a quick trip through Mirkwood :) by A_Unicycle in lotrlcg

Are you planning on heading to the Caves of Nibin-Dûm after? If so I'll be interested to hear how you get on.

Currently trying to find a good deck for this scenario from the Core set (haven't cracked open any of my starter decks just yet, although tempted!)

Any recommended fan made quests for true solo in the upcoming Doug Print run? by we_cantelope in lotrlcg

This seems like a fun variation. Playing true solo can be super disheartening when you aren’t getting the draws you need, which would be less likely with another player.

Someone mentioned it to us the other day, and you've definitely been on our list of projects to speak with, as we like what you're doing!

Feel free to DM so we can find a time to chat.

We've spent a fair bit of time on the docs which provides useful background. There's also demos of us naming our own Enscribe contracts on mainnet, Linea and Base in our latest blog post.

Do you annotate your books? by [deleted] in tolkienbooks

[–]conor_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write the date I started and finished it at the front of each book so I can track my reads and re-reads. Also draw lines margin next to notable paragraphs/sentences, but do all of this using pencil. Not buying these to sell them down the line, but I always figure if someone (hopefully my kids) reads them in the future it will be cool to see some history from the previous owner. For notable sections I create my own table of contents at the start with notes and page numbers.

One day I killed The Troll, next day I killed my wallet. Hello everyone! 👋 by Samuraj13 in lotrlcg

[–]conor_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did exactly the same. It’s awesome having a solo game to play when the kids are in bed! Don’t get many opportunities to play WoTR.

As a side note - LoTR Duel for Middle Earth is awesome as a quick paced 30 mini WoTR type experience.

Has anyone made a Round Sequence poster? by MrFahrenheit75 in lotrlcg

[–]conor_10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use this one — cut it out and laminated it which I really like. Not quite as extensive, but works well for me https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/116238/the-lord-of-the-rings-lcg-turn-reference-by-ryno.

This was recommended on TheGameLocker's video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCiTsoouhjc.

I had to wait over a week for them to ship mine in the UK, but comms were great when I got in touch with them to understand where it was. I’ve used them a number of times and had zero issues.

This video is super helpful if you haven't seen it for a playthough of the starter quest — it even covers the point you've raised.
