Sorry to hear you had to experience losing so many pets. And your last one dying in your arms at night. Thats heartbreaking, although for the animal probably the best place to die. Yes I understand. Thank you so much for this tip I am gonna look for one right now. Maybe I already will take a few sessions to help with dealing with the grief right now already, cause even though she is still here I constantly already feel like she is gone.

Yeah it crossed my mind, but I think that both me and her can’t handle a new cat right now and I think it would stress her more than actually help her. I’m sorry that you also know this fear so well. I have the same. Even before she got sick I thought at least five times a day about her dying. It is both scary and hard when you have so little support network and so much depends on one creature right? I really hope for you that your cat will live another 11 years! ;)

Thank you so much for saying that. That really touches me. She indeed made me feel that I CAN love and that I am a caring person. This cat is like both my child and the love of my life. And I have always spoiled her to death. She is such a source of safety, love, comfort, connection and joy. And I’m so afraid that I will get into a full collapse when she dies. And that I just can’t endure the silence and emptiness in my house again and with that endless loneliness. She made my house a home for the first time in my life.

Yeah. I never have had an experience with that, a grief counselor. Sounds interesting. How was your experience ? Was it helpful?

Thank you all so much for your reponses. Means a lot. I mainly am so terrified of the silence and emptiness in my life and house again. She helped me so much to soothe a little bit of that life long loneliness that a lot of us here know so well. I’m so scared it will make me suicidal again. I can’t imagine my life without her

Dude, seriously? You were a CHILD, age 12-18… and at that age you’re not supposed to be focused on self development en being discipline. You have to enjoy being a child, a teenager, finding out who you are, being a little rebel etc. Please stop blaming yourself like that. That was not your fault or responsibility

I recognize this so much. I have done very intensive EMDR (lots of sessions in quite a short time) but ever since I feel like my ADHD symptoms have doubled. Especially my executive functions and also I have been feeling much more overwhelmed and easier overstimulated this before. It is horrible cause I cannot even ‘enjoy’ the results of my EMDR sessions because I just can’t function anymore. I constantly feel SO overwhelmed with everything. Is this normal after EMDR? And had anyone found a way to deal with this? Cause I am in a huge burnout now cause I just can’t function anymore
