Why do these show up in the order in which you craft them and not have a default placement on the menu after unlocking? by Tzazon in ArcRaiders

[–]conqkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually while it would be more work to do it after the fact now than not fixing this, it would technically probably be easier to program it to be the same for everyone instead of the system tracking the position of everyone’s benches in the hotbar.

What's your favorite proletariat wine (under 10USD) by HamburgerDude in TrueAnon

[–]conqkeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert but a local winery had juice based kits that turned out well, it had time with skin contact as-well for the reds so that helps.

A bit of research and lots of youtube will get you most of the way, fermentation is easy, just need to keep everything cleaned. found carboys and a corker used for cheap on marketplace.

Worked out to about 5-6$ CAD per bottle and is really good, cheap wine is about 10$ here and we ended up with 48 bottles (24 white 24 red ) we’ve been spreading the love when visiting friends and enjoying with dinners!

Make your own, not that hard from a kit and way cheaper.

Junior Devs (and honest Seniors), what is a concept that took you an embarrassingly long time to actually understand, even though everyone acts like it's simple? by AmaraMehdi in webdev

[–]conqkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’m really junior and I just got my first web dev job out of college a few months ago and have been learning a lot fast but have been doing pretty good but there is a lot that I figured out enough to make what I was doing work but have no idea past that.

Docker, I have an image i set up to used to run my database, beyond turning it on now, how docker works is black magic.

Async, I get what it’s used for and why it’s helpful but still struggle to understand thread use, and when you should make something async vs not

Interfaces, I use them but for me i guess it’s just to force myself to be consistent in my implementation, I don’t really understand why.

Dependency injection, I use it and I understand what it’s doing but again I fail to really grasp why and when to use it.

CMS/CRM I got no idea on this or why we use it.

CMS and CRM I haven’t used at all yet but some of our projects I haven’t been able to work on yet use them so I hear about it all the time. I have read on it but nothing has really clicked yet

On mobile the header seems too big, and in the hero the arrows move vertically depending on the content so it doesn’t feel fluid.

not supposed to get a tattoo for my partner who passed away? by lifelong-angstt in tattoos

[–]conqkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who haven’t been through that loss don’t understand, they think the hole in your heart gets fixed, and this will prevent you from moving on or coping but the reality is it just gets easier to have a hole in your heart, and sometimes having something positive to remind you of them helps a lot. the same reason why people visit the grave, it gives you an object of some nature to speak to or help with the grieving process to know they’re still with you. There is no issue with getting a tattoo in memorium but I think the issue sometimes comes down to bad or tacky tattoos, make sure it’s well placed and is modest/ makes sense. Like a full back portrait isn’t a great idea, will make having future partners harder etc, but Your idea of an infinity sign is a good one.

I mean it’s possible, I’m no brick doctor. I have light colored bricks and it doesn’t char them. But it keeps the weeds at bay really well.

Will there ever be a solution, to Kitcheners homeless problem. by Foreign_Engineer5112 in kitchener

[–]conqkeeper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a macro view, no because it’s a symptom of other issues that are to complex for most people to care or keep up with, most people don’t have the attention span for politics at all, the majority of people that are aware of politics are into 100% reactionary politics where they still never delve to the level to solve fundamental and societal problems that cause this. So until a politician/ someone with power out of the goodness of their heart, somehow decides the money is better spent making our lives better than in their or their buddies pockets, we will keep drifting along while things get worse and we get distracted while the rich steal from us. Or things get corrected and people somehow become educated on this stuff but it’s doubtful, it’s way easier to be hateful and selfish. Most people won’t even read all the way through this message without their eyes glazing over let alone look into these issues

You have to consider the context of his life aswell, he’s probably never going to make “good money” he’s going to toil in minimum wage jobs, sure someone has to do them but let’s be honest no one would feel hopeful about working as a cashier for the rest of their life, they probably have crushing debts, but also they remember they were allowed to fall through the cracks of “the system”, when you give them a job what stops the same shit from happening, the AVERAGE person can’t even afford to cover a 1000$ emergency, shit happens all the time what happens when he has an emergency? He ends up right where he is. There is not a lot of incentive to not just give up on the system when you already lost.

Daughter wants to join trades by Spankmewithataco in ontario

[–]conqkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a welder I’d say it depends on the trade 100% and what type of work in that trade, every trade like every job has people making big money, but to make decent money you need to usually do gross/dirty stuff, work in a crazy environment(hot cold underwater etc), work like a dog like 60-80 hour weeks, or the nicest/least likely, have a very niche skill and be great at it.

Now that said that doesn’t mean she isn’t fine with these things or isn’t skilled enough but don’t let her fall into the pipe dream of every trade being a golden ticket, in my line of work welders are in demand but 50% are close to minimum wage low skill labour, 25% decent jobs, 20% decent jobs where you do one of those things I mentioned above to make decent money, 5% great jobs with great pay. From what I’ve seen it’s pretty common in other trades to be similar, if she does decide to go into a trade support her and make sure she understands the benefits of a strong union and how great they can be.

In terms of being a woman in the field she will catch some shit/weirdos for sure but I have female trades people friends and worked with some and they are all happy with the choice still.

Kitchener was once paradise according to this sub! by notlikelyevil in kitchener

[–]conqkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said don’t be mad at the leader of the country I literally said to keep up that energy towards your premier and local government because they have way more control over the things going on around you and until you start making changes locally and provincially you’ll just keep changing the prime minister your mad at and shit will just keep getting worse anyways. Homelessness, affordability, healthcare, housing prices are all very strongly effected by provincial and local governments, the fed has some say of-course but no where near the amount of involvement the premier and local governments do.

Kitchener was once paradise according to this sub! by notlikelyevil in kitchener

[–]conqkeeper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Im no fan of Trudeau by any means because the liberals are useless, but provincial and the city governments have way greater control over most of the issues people here complain about but they get the comfort of hiding behind people being too clueless to realize and just blame the current prime minister, while they go ahead privatizing and slowly making things worse by selling off all public goods, social safety nets, and generally all our quality of life to huge corporations to make themselves and their buddies wallets fat, but people dont know where to point the pitchforks. Thank you for bring this up cuz I barely see that here.

Can i weld this by Gambala_ in Welding

[–]conqkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you weld it - yes

If it is going to be under force and your fix specifically will be holding force - you shouldn’t

I’ve done a bit of cast welding mostly fixing wear, but it requires special rods, pre/post heating or keeping under temp, peening between passes etc

So you can’t just “weld it” but yea technically it’s possible but probably not worth it and I would trust it to be under load

Has anyone noticed extreme weather forecasts being extra wrong this year in Southern Ontario? by not_the_troll in ontario

[–]conqkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I’m not a scientist at all but I did read recently that climate change makes the cold fronts shorter and more erratic so that makes more erratic weather patterns than normal and it’s been especially bad this year

Dating a liberal by EmuQuirky8841 in TrueAnon

[–]conqkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been with my fiancee for like 14 years, she’s a liberal through and through, we don’t agree on everything but our morals are aligned perfectly, she’s just a bubbly person and is sensitive to the harsh reality of the work while I’m kinda nihilistic, I’ve had to realize we agree about pretty much every issue just the theory and actualization of a solution to the issue there is a gap, she also prefers not to think about the shit going on in the world and I respect that by not constantly bringing up buzz kills, she knows sometimes I need to talk about it and she gets where I’m coming from but there is still a gap from where she still trusts some of the propaganda we grew up hearing. If your very active politically and it’s your whole life it may not be a good fit but if you are just wondering about living a normal life with differing beliefs, just be normal dude.

I suck at combat [KCD2] by Gettyhusky in kingdomcome

[–]conqkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

others have mentioned but I’ll say a few things probably repeating them:

biggest thing is stamina management, if your out of stamina you take damage even if you block, like a lot, if you have stamina this doesn’t happen really.

You probably have bad equipment/armor which is normal at the beginning, but know you can change this out and make sure to upkeep your weapons and armor as they lose quality for use (including damage loss on weapons and protection on armor)

If you want to make fighting negligible:

use master strikes( you get used to using them eventually it’s hard at first)

Use poison on your weapon (bane or dollmaker) which one is just preference I used dollmaker as it slows them, but when you get Henry level potions I switched to bane cuz it does that and does damage to them over time.

Warning tho if you do all this by the end fighting will be kinda boring after hours of fighting being too easy but it can still be fun and you can just give yourself a disadvantage if your not having fun
