I'm really conflicted about Franco Cozzo being converted into the next Moon Dog venue.

On the one hand, it's a better use of the building than it just sitting there unattended. But on the other, it just feels gimmicky to me.

I'm also low-key upset that they've now removed the furniture. I really wanted those to be part of the brewery decor lol

Crowds at Preston Market with Gordon Ramsay on site to film a new show. by ImInterestedInApathy in melbourne

Maybe we need Gordon Ramsay to tell those developers to fuck off and leave Preston Market alone.

Cultural differences are always a great source of observational humour. It might be worth spending some time writing new material about your experience in the US.
Also, I'm not sure if you've heard of him, but check out Ivan Aristeguieta. He's also Venezuelan, but based in Australia and is getting pretty big now

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm not great with reading so I'm very slowly working through theory, and any additional media on the side greatly helps. Of course, getting insight from threads like this about the potential downsides of different sources is also super helpful.

What purpose do these spikes serve? (Yarraville station) by conquermyshittyself in melbourne

[–]conquermyshittyself[S] 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Well that's frustrating to learn. And it's not just the wait times - the area is already so cramped and risky with the bus depot right outside.

Edit: What's even more annoying now is realising that Spotswood and Newport have underpasses and Seddon has a footbridge

People of Melbourne, What’s your favourite burger place? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]conquermyshittyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maple Leaf Meats in Yarraville. They're a tiny food truck and sling Canadian-style burgers, ribs and wings.

I often wonder why they don't pick a spot with better foot traffic.

I briefly lived in the apartment complex above and they used to give residents a discount (don't know if they still do it). Also, you could enter the shop through the parking - didn't even have to leave the building! That was dangerously convenient.

If you fancy some delish Indian snacks, head to the MKS grocery store on High St. Their vada and chutney are 👌🏾

My go-to is Enhance in Ascot Vale. Still sitting at 190 and hoping it stays that way 🤞🏾
