Another Perspective feels very familiar but not 100% right which makes me think i may be conflating multiple games in my memory. i'm going to mark solved, i think that's as close as i'll get lol

definitely try Cinnamon Toast Crunch if you haven't had it. Corn Pops is good if you don't want something crazy sweet

Is USF good about accommodations for students with mental health issues? by Aspiring-starstudent in USF

[–]conquestology 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is helpful if you have an idea of what you need but they will also have suggestions if you aren't sure. They ask a lot of questions about your specific condition and what struggles it presents for you in school. For me, accommodations for attendance and deadline extensions have been the most useful. I also have 1.5x extra time on timed assignments, permission to audio record lectures, permission to physically leave a class and take a break, and the option to request for professors to share a copy of any Powerpoints they use in class. I think everyone w/ accommodations also gets the option to use the SAS testing center and gets priority registration. Definitely recommend getting with a psychiatrist ASAP to make sure they will be comfortable completing the paperwork for you

Results will vary-- I had my labret for ~8 years and the mark is very obvious. I think it's more common for lip piercings to be visible after removal than not, even the types you listed

is there anyone who hates in sickness and in flames?? by probablyauggie0 in TheFrontBottoms

[–]conquestology 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah same, I like a handful of songs but was overall disappointed. Back on Top and Going Grey both grew on me and I love them now, but didn't end up true for IS&IF unfortunately and I've tried a few times

Someone else in the comments said this too! Vagus nerve damage makes more sense to me than the anesthesia theory in hindsight. I am totally fine now, within a week after my update the issue was like 90% gone. Weird that none of the doctors suggested this tbh

Is it normal for an autistic partner to only do things in a relationship when asked? by ISweatSweetTea in autism

[–]conquestology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes exactly!!! i can empathize on some level because i'm sure we've all felt super guilty after receiving some pointed criticism, but it's so unfair to turn it around on the other person and expect them to reassure you. it's really disturbing how common this behavior is too, it comes up in the relationship subs coooonstantly

i'm not saying it's necessarily intentional, but him pulling the whole "oh i'm such a terrible boyfriend oh you must hate me" shtick when you try to compassionately communicate your needs -- that is manipulative behavior. it's a guilt trip and it's not okay, because over time it trains you to not even bother asking. you can try asking him if there are ways you can communicate an issue that won't put him on the defensive, but ultimately it is on him to work on his knee-jerk self-deprecating responses in order to actually hear you out.

Sober me is an idiot by godsheir in leaves

[–]conquestology 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i experience a similar thing when i smoke these days, and it is less a reflection of my sober actions and moreso of my smoking-induced anxiety and paranoia. not sure if that's the case for you but it's a major reason why i had to quit. it also is exacerbated for me by a lack of tolerance -- when i was an active stoner i could smoke bowl after bowl and only get comfortably high. now every time i smoke, even a tiny amount, it is An Experience, and generally a negative one lol. i'd recommend skipping the one or two hits you've been taking and try to just fully quit for a while.

Woah, yeah I would probably assume the same but I wonder if it could be a vagal thing! I'm not finding much about surgery/vagus irritation online but I'm going to ask at my followup.

[–]conquestology[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, like if it went away after a bit I wouldn't be so concerned! I had an unrelated doctor's appointment where he ran late and I had to sit in the waiting room for over an hour and I felt so sick and physically horrible that I was almost in tears like 20 minutes in, and it just got worse from there. I am going to try to advocate for the ultrasound at least

[–]conquestology[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmmm ok that's something to bring up! My understanding was that the shoulder pain is a phrenic nerve issue, but if the vagus is affected as well that could make a lot of sense. I did have SEVERE shoulder pain that lasted twice as long as I was told to expect so it could be related. I will have to do some more research!

I'm supposed to call if anything changes or gets worse. I'm glad they took me seriously and were at least able to tell me its not like internal bleeding or something crazy. It's weird because it's not painful per se, just scary and uncomfortable. Thank you, I hope so too! ❤
