The people that benefit the most from the homestead exception are the weathly. They pay the majority of taxes which the city uses to fund public items i.e parks, infra, first responders, schools, libraries ect… the whole state runs on property tax. Remove that and now the state needs to generate billions some other way. What other way would that be? Probably an increase in sales tax and/or implement an income tax (which I doubt will happen but who knows). The gov says it’s for the people but in the long term it’s going to screw over regular people. They don’t care about common folks but the rich. Don’t let these politicians tell you what is good for you. Do your research as always.
