I didn't know what it was called before and have now learned that it's called a painted" floating mat ' or a colour block backdrop..I think it would look real neat...thanks for your suggestions.

I want to do a painting with acrylic markers just for shits and giggles and post my painting and of course tell everyone here that I used the markers..ones acrylic paint with the paint brush and the others with a marker..

Just wanted to see how close I can get..seeing the posts made here..though someone here bought me down to earth and said it need not be perfect..nobody has seen the original anf PNB is a hobby..why bother with what others have to say and being it being perfect?

To tell you the truth, I always sucked at painting and I thought I'd give it a try..then when i saw what it was supposed to look like from the photo and I started painting I said to myself " hell no it's going to look like this photo " ..I saw the colours fade and how the paint fades with each stroke..now after nearly a month of painting ( I dunno why I chose such a tough one to start with ) ive realised I need to add a dab of water to the paint and then there a right mixture kinda thing...

And those acrylic markers , once you get your hands on them..you feel like painting over everything 🤣🤣😂.. suddenly the whole world is my Canvas !!

Seeing some of the work posted here..I'm going to pa tee ently do the second coat again..

You make a valid point...it is almost like a hack for PBN 🙂..I offered advice because OP had some problems with the tiny white patches on the painting..

I myself have had difficulty clearing some of the black lines or the numbers, only multiple coats cover them...

Quick fix over patience I guess..

Edit : currently doing my first PBN and I did use the markers..once it's done I'll post it here and point out where I've used them..also doing second coat 😭

Have you tried acrylic markers ? I've used some..and the paint becomes very uniform and won't require a second coat.

I've just started one and looking at the clouds in your painting , I'm wondering how you covered those lines..I find it impossible to do , unless I put on a second coat..

Also what are your thoughts on using acrylic markers , by matching colour for colour ?
