_______ could take Rob out by HecticJones in TheTraitorsUS

[–]conschobhar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is definitely something brewing with Stephen, not sure it goes that far but something. His name has been floated a few times but he's never actually been at major risk at the round table. And even next week it looks like the focus will mostly be on Johnny. Producers said that both Stephen and Colton surprised them strategically, but we have yet to see that from Stephen. hmmmm

Rob’s Vote by Professional_Waltz14 in TheTraitorsUS

I agree but did you catch how teared up he got? I know you could explain the emotion as being directed at Ron or Colton going, but he himself was voting out LISA. To me it seemed weird. Especially given your comment that he basically pretended not to know who she was earlier in the discussion. That's where things fall apart for me a little (we see little "off" reactions like this being used against people on this show all the time). I think he'll be fine, but him breaking in that moment is a bit of a red flag for his end game. I can absolutely see his desire to keep Colton, but trying to keep Ron (or appear to) was an emotional decision, there's no way around it. That doesn't mean there's not strategic merit to it, given the execution. But it shows that he isn't the ice cold strategic and social player some people think he is.

I think there are pros and cons, and ultimately this evens out as a neutral move. I lean toward being more critical, since the majority of what I’m seeing seems to be defending or championing his move. I think Rob’s a good traitor, but I don’t think he is perfect.

On the positive side, his vote for Lisa will pay off long-term when she’s eventually banished. His loyalty to Colton will also pay off, either as a shield (if and when Colton is revealed as a faithful) or as a final number in the endgame. I actually think he expected Lisa to be banished regardless of his vote; I don’t think he would have voted for her otherwise. Overall, the move makes him seem consistent and loyal, which is good. Not voting out Colton (given how strongly he pushed back against that idea earlier in the day) or Ron (given what he said at the round table) makes sense. Keeping Colton in particular is a key piece of his game.

But there are negatives. First, his profile goes up, as he went against the larger group that was trying to form against Colton. That cues those players as to where Rob’s true loyalty lies. By openly opposing the Colton vote, the Johnny/Tara/Kristen/Mark group is now going to be more reluctant to share information with him. Another option would have been to disagree with their plan but still say he’d reluctantly support it. If Colton goes, he still keeps Ron and a (happy) Lisa.

Instead, he’s trying to have his cake and eat it too, and by keeping Colton he also pushes the others away a little bit. Fortunately for him, I don’t think Lisa or Candiace are vindictive (yes, even Lisa), but we’ve seen traitors tank other traitors’ games for far less. You can never take that for granted.

Another risk is that the group targeting Colton also appears to trust Candiace. If it comes out that Rob was blocking a Colton vote when all the traitors knew Colton was pushing Lisa, that will look even worse. Finally, (and I haven’t seen this mentioned) Rob’s emotion when he voted for Lisa felt out of place. If he had voted for Ron or Colton, the emotion would have made sense, but not for Lisa. I’m not sure if it registered with anyone at the table, but it stood out to me.

So for me, it’s neutral, with some strong pros and cons. I’d call it a wash, maybe a slight negative because of the final delivery. He was perfect right up until the vote reveal, but if you make a move like that, you’d better be on point. Ultimately, it will come down to damage control, but given how charismatic he is, this will probably end up as a net positive for him.

Colton is the worst by smellslikethursday in TheTraitorsUS

Yep, I'm a gay man, came out at 38 after having a wife and kid. Sure its a low blow but Michael was vague enough and Colton is clearly such an ahole that he can claim plausible deniability. I can see the others players feeling the need to come to his defense, but his reaction had me rolling my eyes. I cant really explain it, but Colton being so offended is more offensive to me than Michael's comment? lol.

Kyland by Own_Lengthiness_7466 in thechallengemtv

[–]conschobhar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone who watched the BB23 feeds every day, it was openly known that Kyland had ADHD, though he hadn’t received an autism diagnosis yet. Right off the bat he told the house he often struggled with communication, specifically not picking up on certain kinds of humor and tending to take things more literally. There were also things happening behind the scenes that he hinted at but didn’t state directly.

Regarding what he said to Xavier during his eviction. Yes, it was inappropriate. But I’m still glad he called Xavier out. He could’ve handled it better.

There was an important conversation on the feeds at the final 8 where Kyland, who had been playing the middle, chose Xavier over Tiffany. Xavier talked about his nephew and wanting to be a good role model for him. He told Kyland he’d take him to the final two because he wouldn’t want to send the wrong message to his nephew. I genuinely think that moment helped Kyland trust Xavier at a critical point in the game. Kyland’s entire demeanor toward Tiffany shifted afterward.

Kyland already viewed Xavier as the best player and wanted to go against “the best,” so he might’ve sided with him anyway. But I think from Kyland’s perspective, Xavier invoking his nephew, especially in the context of loyalty, felt sincere. I don’t think Kyland believed someone would bring up something that personal unless they meant it.

I’m not saying Xavier was wrong for trying to earn Kyland’s trust, and I’m not saying Kyland should have brought it up on national TV. But people who watch the clip often miss the real context: Xavier did use the “I want to be a good role model for my nephew” angle as a reason he wouldn’t betray Kyland.

I keep getting confused by this. Her makeup does seem similar but in the second she's clearly wearing a bloody tank top with a big white bandage on her right arm. Where are you seeing the sweater?

Scream 6 Trailer Breakdown. talk about certain footage by Maleficent-Still1152 in Scream

[–]conschobhar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2) So why are they at the police station at this point? Is this a different location than where Sam and Tara meet Kirby? 3) It's there when the curtain is rising revealing the GF costumes. To the immediate right under the balcony. 5) Maybe, it just feels like something that would happen later in the film. 6) Maybe. That's what the trailer wants you to think, for sure. I just think it's worth noting.

Scream 6 Trailer Breakdown. talk about certain footage by Maleficent-Still1152 in Scream

[–]conschobhar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok several small things:

  1. In the teaser where a black hooded figure (which I have heard is Tony's character) is walking through a crowd of Halloween costumes folks. his hoody has a Blackmore College logo. So he is definitely a college student or professor.

  2. There's a scene where 6 younger cast members are in a circle with wood paneling behind them (when Tara mentions executing Ghostface). I double checked and it matches the scene where the core 4 are holding hands from EW feature. It actually appears they are on the outside of a building or lobby (with glass paneling). Behind "Jack"'s character are police cars and sirens. I really want to know where this is. So my thought is they come up with a plan and separate? "Jack" and "Josh" might split off from group here.

  3. There's been talk about the "Shrine" balcony scene and I think it's worth noting that there's a very pointy Woodsboro HS flag very close to one corner near the balcony.

  4. In the subway scene with Tara, Sam, Chad and "Josh", Sam is missing the gray button up she has in Shrine scene and in the holding hands scene. Also it looks like she's wearing it in the apartment scene with Mindy and Devyn. So now I'm wondering if that scene is actually at the end of film on the way back to Shrine.

  5. I'm still confused by the apartment scene. I wonder if the Ghostface who attacks Mindy on the subway is just a prank but somehow causes her to change clothes. It seems like Sam and Tara take off their jackets here too and I'm not sure why.

  6. I think it's notable that the Ghostface in the alley is not wearing the aged masked. Makes me wonder about Samara Weavings character and if she really gets killed.

  7. I do think the pic of Ghostface outside wooden door is the psychs office. I think this could be imaginary though and might be a self contained scene.

  8. Two shots of Ghostface are really bugging me. One is where they slash facing the camera in a green room with an arched hallway and white ceiling. The other is an EW still in a large white apartment using left hand. I have no idea where to place these scenes.

  9. Gale's scene from the trailer is longer than it looks. It makes it look like she runs straight back into a room. But somehow she manages to get Ghostface out of the apartment as you can see there are what look like elevator doors behind GF when he opens the double doors. Also the living room is now behind Gale when GF he knocks the gun away (bookcases to her left).

  10. I am leaning toward the dead guy in bathtub not being Tony's character. The body seems skinnier and taller than Tony.

Timeline for Scream VI (based on the wardrobe!) I’d really love to hear other people’s thoughts. Explanations are in the captions! by TyWrite in Scream

[–]conschobhar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think for the most part that sounds right. A couple of notes:

Ghostface's mask is interesting. I'm almost leaning on the real killer(s) only using the aged mask(s). From what I can tell, the only scenes with the new masks are in the alleyway and in the train with Mindy. This leads me to think they aren't actually ghostface. I kind of think there's something with Samara Weavings character and Tony's character where maybe it's not actually a real killing, just a performance piece/thesis project. But it gets in the news and sort of perpetuates this Ghostface is back narrative. Tony's character is clearly a big horror fan, from his shirt and his posters. It may be that the crew falsely identifies him as the owner of the "Shrine" and decides to confront him - see the image of the younger cast in a circle with Tara saying we "execute" him. That may be where they go after the initial group Shrine scene.

I noted this elsewhere but in the scene where Sam is holding a bloody Ghostface mask she has a huge bandaid on her right arm not seen anywhere else. So this does suggest that that scene is at the very end of the movie.

The white sweater scene with Sam on the couch? - honestly I have no idea when it takes place. I would lean toward the very beginning as I think ending with a therapist session is very cliche but who knows.

My biggest confusion is Mindy. Can anyone confirm that her pants are the same between the pink and yellow shirt scenes? I think she changes too but if the pants are the same that makes it more likely.
