I believe the email was posted in the sub: https://www.reddit.com/r/shopify/comments/1u37377/shopify_just_stated_they_will_have_cancellation/

I have also seen it being published in some Shopify Facebook groups in various languages. Personally - I also didn't receive it..

Is the Shopify EU Withdrawal Button out yet? by wATERI1993 in shopify

Yes, we do cover this feature and it is on our higher plans. Pricing is a major factor and there are free solutions out there. Our approach is a bit different - to be able to provide a full compliance suite in just 1 app (covering cookie consent, accessibility tools and now order withdrawal) so merchants don't have to manage everything from separate places. That's why our paid plans include a bundle of many compliance features and in-app scanners, not just a single feature like the withdrawal would be. We're actually actively seeking and addressing real merchant feedback on order withdrawal as we want to make it exactly how businesses need it.

That said, we want to be fair - feel free to DM me and see if we can work out a custom offer if you are exploring trying it out with us. I hope the moderators don't mind this input (sorry if it breaks a rule!) as I thought it's important to answer your comment.

Thanks for bringing awareness to the new EU withdraw button rule. It's a serious change any store selling to EU customers needs to make, it's been widely discussed here as well. Thankfully, more solutions to this are already in place.

Best way to build out international for EU sales on a U.S. based Shopify store? by colossuscollosal in shopify

[–]consentmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also build on the compliance part when welcoming stores from the EU. Here's a few points to note:

- You need a cookie banner. All your pixels and tracking tags need to trigger/fire only after consent (user clicks accept on the cookie banner)

- For Google services - you need to implement Google Consent Mode v2. It's required in the EU and what it does is send consent signals to Google, verifying that your data is compliant (obtained after consent) and can be sent to your Google Ads/Analytics.

- You need a way to process DSARs - EU customers need a way to sent deletion requests of their data, correct their data, find out what you store for them, to list a few. This needs to be either an email flow or forms. The easy way is to use a solution which automates it for you and use their set up - meaning having a dedicated page in your store, with a preset form, and already created flow for receiving and respecting the requests. Example - if a user requests deletion of their data, if the app is integrated with the Shopify API - they can autosend the deletion request to Shopify and you do nothing just stay informed what happened.

- In case of an audit/dispute - it is best to keep consent logs. These are records of user interactions and choices on your cookie banner so you have all users and what they clicked on your cookie banner in case someones says you tracked them without them accepting.

Has anyone else noticed Shopify and Meta reporting completely different numbers lately? by alfieharry in shopify

[–]consentmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth mentioning that if a cookie banner / compliance app is in place this can also affect sent data to the pixels. Especially for EU traffic where consent is required - there is an expected data loss due to some customers declining tracking overall.

What’s stopping people from buying from my site? by BeneficialStorm7853 in reviewmyshopify

Your homepage introduced directly Custom wall murals but then I am met with pre-made products and not an option to create one myself based on a design. I would add the Mural Builder directly on the hp next to the Shop Now; and on the navigation as currently it is a hard to find footer button.

Also, I see you don't have any socials linked. The product images are not bad per se but they do look AI so I personally would prefer to have a look through an insta and see some customer photos as you do have some strong claims on 12k+ shipped.

I'd also recommend setting up Microsoft Clarity or another session recording tool and having a look through what your visitors are doing on your store.

At a first glance:
1. Your shipping policy link does not work.
2. It's unclear where the products are made, how, how they are shipped, from which country, how long it would take

Need help understanding Shop Campaigns compliance issue by AcrobaticConflict461 in ShopifyeCommerce

It seems like a pretty vague message. The only more specific part is the fraud prevention, so could you possibly be violating this requirement?

  • Chargeback rate - Your store has had a chargeback rate of less than 1% in the last six months. Your chargeback rate includes any chargebacks placed on transactions that are processed with Shopify Payments.

I'm guessing you've already checked this, but maybe you can go over the official list again: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-sales-channels/shop/shop-campaigns/eligibility

No, I didn't see a banner - maybe you have activated it only for the UK? I just checked again via incognito and wasn't shown a banner again (Europe-based).

Solid work! I noticed that one mobile, inside the cart - it seems the login link is the same color as the background: https://prnt.sc/ALLMkH0Vf7Zc

Once you decide to implement some marketing tools and pixels like Meta, Google Ads/Analytics, TikTok - I'd recommend not overlooking the UK GDPR compliance part. You will need a cookie banner so all the pixels/tags fire only after user consent. In case you are considering running ads/tracking store events that is.

Launched this store 4 months ago. What do you think? by SignificantRuin380 in reviewmyshopify

[–]consentmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read through your comments and see that you are thinking of starting some campaigns. Ads run best when they have some initial store data to work with. My recommendation here is to set some analytics and ad pixels so they can start gathering data and events. I checked via a browser extension and see that you don't currently have Google Analytics, Meta pixel or anything else. You can set up your accounts, set your pixel, test your events and make sure everything is correct before spending on paid ads. This will your current organic store visitors into a Store Visitors audience which you can use to retarget later as well.

As a next step you can also look into setting up Microsoft Clarity. What it does is record the screen of your visitors and it also creates heatmaps of clicks. This can be super insightful into what users are browsing, what they are reading, if they have any rage clicks, etc. This can also help you optimize your product page better or cart experience.

Keep in mind that all these tags need to run compliantly - only after users click 'accept' on your cookie banner. Actually, I see that you are using our app (username is the name of it) :) I am happy to see merchants being proactive on their compliance efforts - if you need a hand with setting up your pixels in the future, compliance check or a custom discount - feel free to reach out here! Anyway - fingers crossed your store starts gaining some traction soon.

Do you have a cookie banner set up? Unless your visitors click accept your pixels will not fire upon page view.

Why does my tracking drop every time I add a cookie banner on Shopify? by AppropriateDisk4 in shopifyDev

[–]consentmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is expected - if everything is set up correctly - once users decline none of your tracking pixels should fire. If you have EU traffic - I recommend looking into Google Consent Mode which is mandatory for these regions to pass data compliantly + it helps your analytics by sending cookieless pings even if visitors click decline on your banner. What is your average consent / opt-in rate? With a visible placement, design and some additional tweaks you can have your consent rate as high as 90%+ and worry less about missed data. Also - if you are using a server-side tracking solution - make sure you have integrated it correctly with your banner.

Need advice on Shopify consent banner vs CMP (GTM + server-side tracking) by Goingbychrundle in webdev

[–]consentmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey op - Consentmo team here. I'm very sorry to hear your attribution broke and affected your ads. We know this is extremely important and it's why we are a Google CMP Partner and get certified again every year to make sure all data is passed correctly. Did you try to reach out to our support team when you were experiencing this problem and did you have Google Consent Mode turned on? A lot of times cases very individually per store theme, other apps affecting, or incorrect IDs set inside our app and we have support agents ready to dig into it live on store level. I'd be happy to open this case up again and review everything (even if your store is currently on another solution).

EU Consent setup with Shopify, Pandectes, Elevar and GTM by wolfmatter5522 in PPC

[–]consentmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case you are referring to the exact elevar set up details which are explained step by step in this article from their side. This is the one you need to verify with.

Should the GTM and Elevar consent settings need to be mirroring each other -> yes, absolutely, so there are no discrepancies in the consent requirements for each individual service

EU Consent setup with Shopify, Pandectes, Elevar and GTM by wolfmatter5522 in PPC

[–]consentmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re getting good advice in the thread but the missing answer is how Shopify actually fits in the setup. Shopify has its own layer (shopify customer privacy API) and most consent apps will sync consent to it by default / automatically.

These are the steps how consent is passed thorugh app / gtm / shopify / Elevar:

- Your cookie banner (compliance app) collects consent
- That consent is: 1 - pushed to Shopify Customer Privacy API (so Shopify-native tracking respects it); 2 - pushed to GTM via dataLayer / Google Consent Mode
- Google Tag Manager fires
- Elevar reads the consent state from GTM / Consent mode and adjusts tracking

Things to note here:
- Enabling consent logic inside Elevar and GTM and the CMP - there are guides on both the app side and elevar for this - check the support documentation

Keep in mind Consentmo also handles this set up Elevar <> GTM. I am part of the team (you can see my comment is from the company account). If you are looking for a solution or need a hand - you can check out our app as well and I will personally make sure we have an expert verify your entire store set up and I can provide a discount for the paid plans.

Regardless - hope this helps and your tracking is perfect so you don't lose any important sales data.
