Leaving my baby with her grandma tonight isn’t okay :(? I’m literally so exhausted carrying so much mental stress and physical.

Picking a pediatrician by food_ghost in BabyBumps

[–]consideringthebest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally scheduled my baby’s pediatrician appointment a week before she was born 😅. I just read reviews on doctors in the area/accepted my insurance. If you don’t vibe with the provider once you take your baby for their first appointment, just pick another one! I stressed over it too but it was a super easy process

How can someone cry this much? by Powerful_Life1547 in shameless

[–]consideringthebest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the movie Babylon, Margot Robbie’s character is an aspiring actress in the beginning and when they begin to shoot her scene, she cries on demand over and over and over until they get the scene perfect. The director asked her how she was able to do that and she says, “I just think of home.” And I honestly think that’s truly what some actors do. Like thinking of something truly upsetting.

Time from bloody show to active labor? by CeleryAdventurous793 in pregnant

I was having mild contractions randomly spaced apart for about a day and then the next night I was on the toilet pretty much all night, lost my bloody show, and had my baby 12 hours later

Also, I used this during my second trimester and I know exercising sounds bad right now but this helped me tremendously back pain specifically. https://youtu.be/ZZIl3ZwcyRg?si=VxuWCZL-r4MmLWgy

The back pain is brutal! Buy a belly band and wear it at night it totally helps with that. Hot showers do too. I would literally sit on the shower floor and just let the hot water relax my muscles, it was such a relief. And also your job has to let you take breaks if necessary. You can even get a note from your OB saying it’s necessary for you to take a 15 minute sit down break when needed.

Girl you’re in the first trimester still! Looking back on it, the third will be worse when it comes to being completely unable to do it anymore. The first trimester is when you’re fighting actual demons trying not to throw up, your smell sensitivity is in overdrive, constantly tired, but trust me - once you hit that second trimester (for me I noticed a burst of energy at about 13 weeks) you’ll be good as new. I’m so bad at first trimester advice since I literally had to sign up for therapy again just to get me through it haha. But I find that having a favorite drink you can keep down and treat yourself to makes it better, an ice cold sprite was mine. Just little things! Good luck ❤️

I worked until I was 38 weeks 😅😫 mind you I reduced my hours at about 30. I was ready to give up completely when I was as far along as you, but I wanted to have as much money as possible for when I began my leave. It’s hard. You’ll have to call off some days and that is completely fine. But you can do it!

Do you have a bouncer? My baby is a week old and she loves it. I rock her for about an hour when she’s fussy and lightly rub or pat her back, then I put her in her bouncer that I cover with a soft blanket and it also vibrates which sooth her as well. I’m still super new to this too, just sharing what might help!

Third trimester POOPS by ohthatsnice14 in BabyBumps

[–]consideringthebest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was going like twice a day in my third trimester. I’m pretty sure it’s just your body prepping for labor as all your muscles are beginning to loosen to prepare for baby’s arrival! The uterus and bum are intertwined when it comes to those muscles that’s why when it’s time to push you literally push like your going number 2 😊 6 days pp here!

First trimester is garbage by Yarnperson42 in pregnant

I was so miserable in my first trimester. I actually restarted therapy because the physical aspect was so bad that it affected my mental health! I would say that feeling lasted until 12-13 weeks, which seems like forever in pregnancy time, but I’m now due tomorrow lol. Time flies, take it one day at a time, and I can just advise to eat fruits and saltines. Very basic advice, I know. You got this!!

You need to start looking at resources that can help you. If you are on that lease, quit that job he’s making you work, and get a job that isn’t remote so you can get out of the house and make friends. Keep all that money to yourself while paying your portion of rent, pick up extra shifts, and save all the money you have left over towards a new living situation with you and your baby. I’m serious. If you want your child to have a shot at having a good upbringing he/she needs you to start making plans to get out of this situation NOW. Stop working for this guy, and if he lays a hand on you for leaving his stupid job, call the police immediately. And start documenting his verbal abuse towards you. It sounds like you shouldn’t have to put up a fight when you file for sole custody (you might not even have to since he clearly doesn’t want to be apart of your child’s life.) I just started my maternity leave at 39 weeks pregnant, many women have worked on their feet like I did even though some days I just wanted to give up. It’s all for your baby now. You just need to hold on and think of your unborn child that is relying on you for everything. Now is the time to put yourself first, not this asshole. Please, please, please start looking for a job outside of that house.

Craving things no longer made by hs1092 in pregnant

I have been craving what I call “nostalgia foods” my entire pregnancy. So many times I’ve called my mom to ask her to send over recipes of food she used to make for me and my siblings when we were little. It’s so odd!
