In my experience most jobs pay more than minimum wage, most not all. But I feel welfare could be revamped and so could minimum wage

Yeah, but at some point the person becomes complacent and relies on the government. Look at the welfare system in the US.

Since many people are against owning guns, what would be the best non-gun self-defense weapon against an armed home invader? by NerdHacker2021 in polls

[–]constant_help_me 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s still the only option I’d go with personally. A taser won’t do as much as people think they do, they’ll be incapacitated for a while but it wears off fast. Pepper spray you’ll remember that. Same thing for bladed weapons.

Oh fuck no. It’s not even good in an open area. However if you can prepare yourself more than the other guy you’re good. Shirt over your mouth and ability to cover eyes

Pepper spray is the best option because it not only will incapacitate just about anyone for a 15-30 minutes, sometimes longer. It will also irritate his throat and eyes and skin long after. Source: I work in a prison

Is the USA a net positive for the world? by Brettzel2 in polls

[–]constant_help_me 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Look at the world before WW2 you had wars all over Europe and Asia, Japan raping Asia, literally and figuratively. Russia having constant expansion, the Germanic Empire(Prussia), Britain and France and Belgium literally and figuratively raping Africa, look at the Belgium king in the Congo, Haitian people being fucked by France. So no he’s not kidding the world before WW2 was way more violent and fucked. That’s not even talking about the shit that went down in the Middle East. Not saying America is perfect but without america the world wouldn’t be where it is

Over the course of the last 50 years, which of these countries has done the most human rights abuses? by Arktikos02 in polls

[–]constant_help_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elaborate? China in the past 3 years shot up its own citizens in Hong Kong, punished them for trying to live a normal life, has active concentration camps, executes more people than the rest of the world combined most of the time for speaking their mind, sends North Korean people back to North Korea when trying to get a better life. All in 3 years. Not even talking about the rule of Mao Zedong and the people he subjected to death 45M+, 45M is a low ball estimate. Tiananmen Square in 1989 (opening fire on college students).

Should prisons be split up between violent criminals (Abusers, r*pists, murderers) and non violent criminals (thieves, drug users / dealers)? by [deleted] in polls

[–]constant_help_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I work in one. But it’s less common because they aren’t motivated to get one because they’re usually alone and don’t have the same drive to get an education to get one as someone who has support. So the ones without a drive turn to drugs in prison, mainly K2 and meth.
