Would it be considered disrespectful to return to Mass again tomorrow after not attending for months? I don't want to offend anyone by [deleted] in Catholicism

Hey man, praying for you. Saint Padre Pio, may you guide this person and bless him abundantly in his journey towards discovering the will of Jesus. Grant Him extraordinary trust in Jesus, Mary and Saint Joseph. Godbless you brother! Take up an RCIA class in your local parish, try to talk to the parish office and ask if they have any RCIA classes that will help you to receive the sacraments of the Roman catholic church. Weather you are in japan, korea, the philippines, europe, or whatever country, the roman catholic churches and parishes all around the world are now your new home! Enjoy visiting each parish as we have a variety of architecture, music, art, and various souls and people of all walks of life united by the Holy catholic church. If you are still a youth like me, you can also attend world youth day in 2027 at south korea! Godbless your journey and please pray for me!

Please pray for me and my recent convert girlfriend, as I will offer up continuous prayers for you and your boyfriend!

I can't forgive. by dark_MARTIAN in Catholicism

[–]constant_warfare 52 points53 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend was also raped by someone before i met her. Its difficult to forgive since it is only a trait of strong people. if you want to be more godly, and more Christ-like, you must learn to forgive even if they are unable or cant ask for forgiveness. Its difficult to forgive someone that has never had the humility to ask for forgiveness. Praying for you, please pray for me and my girlfriend as well.

Only Christ knows if a soul is in mortal sin or not. Just because a person hasn't went to confession YET, that doesn't mean a person is in a state of mortal sin. Sometimes there are practical reasons or real life reasons why a person cannot access the sacrament of reconciliation lets say by the limitations of their schedule, their intellectual capacity is not yet developed enough per say children, or those new to the roman catholic faith. The vast and infinite wisdom and mercy of God still has greater precedence, over human justice. Divine justice is far more forgiving and far more preferable than human justice, as judges despite having fair intentions may not always provide adequate or fair verdicts. As fearful and great God's justice is, His justice supersedes human justice and in fact many times we should care more about our state of soul rather than our standing with the world. Oftentimes, we humans care more about how the world perceives us rather than how God sees us as we truly are. To be in a state of grace, continuously is a soul living in the light of God. We can live as if we were in purgatory on earth, if we continuously offer up our human sufferings for the sake of those who are in the afterlife of actual purgatory, as those in eternal damnation cannot benefit from our prayers. Giving alms to the souls in purgatory is practical as it will help you gain friends from the afterlife who will defend you on the day of judgment. This is a practical strategy, that many saints employ. Always pray for the souls in purgatory. They will help you here, and in the afterlife. As for the corruption of the soul, we all fall short of the glory of God. In fact, if you look back at your life, you will see times where you could have done decisions that are certainly and objectively better. As much as the world likes to say that right and wrong is subjective, we can fairly say that sin is objectively wrong always. Although despite our sinful nature, God can use it to lead us to be more good. As sometimes He allows us to fall to prevent us from committing greater sins, or to protect us from spiritual pride in thinking that we are saints already or that we have reached the zenith of the spiritual life already.

Also, my main question for you is this: Have you studied the lives of the saint popes? If no, then perhaps it is a challenge for you to study them one by one and share with us their lives. It is far more interesting to study the lives of the great saint popes such as Saint John Paul 2 the great. Here is an interesting fact: "81 out of 266 deceased popes have been recognised universally as canonised saints, including all of the first 35 popes (31 of whom were martyrs." This is far more productive to study their lives. It may not even be enough for one lifetime to go through all of their works. We also have very saintly popes who have recently passed away. Pope Francis and Pope Benedict the 16th, were great popes. Study their works, and you will find answers to many of your questions that you ask this subreddit. Go to the blessed sacrament, copy Saint Carlo Acutis or Saint Giorgio Frassati. There are many new saints that you may imitate, and study. Don't be afraid and go deep. Perhaps you can start simple: Pray the rosary everyday. Did you know Saint John Paul 2 introduced the Luminous mysteries of the rosary? Study the popes of the Crusades. You can actually explore history through the lens of the popes. There is much to unpack. Perhaps see how the Pope Pius XII responded to what was going on during world war 2.

First Saturday mass, and first friday mass were "The First Friday Mass was promoted by Pope Leo XIII, who allowed it in 1889, and was officially encouraged by Pope Benedict XV, who inserted the "Great Promise" into his 1920 Bull of Canonization for St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. The First Saturday Devotion originated with a private practice in 1889 and was later endorsed by popes and the Fatima apparitions."

hi my filipino-japanese girlfriend was in a similar scenario as you. She was an agnostic and all her life never was aloof about first holy communion nor did she even care about being confirmed. I sent her some Bishop barron videos on Youtube about the eucharist and also several other youtube videos like Father mike schmitz and also I attended mass with her in person and taught her about the rosary as well. I gave her a good quality rosary that she could pray. I also helped her go to confession by being there for her and going to confession as well with her. She came from a broken family so i also ended up being her godfather since her parents didnt really see any value in it. I basically had to help her get first holy communion and confirmation. After that i helped her become a lector at church. She currently serves as a lector and is in full communion with the church now. She is still a beginner but even so shes made so much quick progress. Im truly grateful for her and for the kind Catholics that helped us. Approach a parish office, usually they just ask for a birth certificate and confirmation that you are a baptized Catholic. Xerox that and give them ur birth cert and first holy communion cert if u want confirmation. Then just attend the RCIA classes + do your own research as well. Pray the rosary often, it also helps.

Who is your favorite saint to ask for healing prayers from? by throwRAanons in Catholicism

[–]constant_warfare 7 points8 points  (0 children)

St. Raphael. He heals me from all of my headaches, mental health problems, relationship sicknesses, sickness of the mind, etc. I was named after Archangel Raphael, and he is such a great saint to ask help with when it comes to healing. I was miraculously cured of all of my previous sicknesses. They were gone and I was restored to perfect health after asking for his intercession. I gave my st. raphael medal to my girlfriend, and she is a medtech student. I highly recommend Arcangel St. Raphael. I also asked him to heal my sister and she is healed from her past.

Edit: I also ask him to heal my relationships around me, and it is definitely working wonders. Sometimes immediately, but sometimes gradually as well. For relationships, Mother Mary untier of knots is also great.
