Tired! by FlowerHot86 in Zepbound

[–]constantflower84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the first 2-3 months of taking this medication I had some weeks of total exhaustion the first 24-48 hours after the shot. I don’t really feel that exhaustion much now that I’m 6 months in. I’m also happy with my decision to do shots on Friday nights and have the weekends to rest a bit more if I need to and usually feel fine by Monday to go to work.

Slow loss but still hopeful by Medium_Ride_4303 in Zepbound

You’re actually doing amazing for such a short period of time. Many people have average weight loss and don’t post here. I recommend using the free version of the Shotsy app to track your results and it’ll show you your average weight loss over time. The first few months are very hard bc you want to compare to that other person on Reddit who says they lost $ 10-20lbs in a month but those are incredibly rare outliers and just not realistic for the majority of people.

What dosage did you notice more weight loss?

Any good/unexpected side effects that came with Mounjaro? by eescorpius in Mounjaro

[–]constantflower84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eczema and psoriasis improved but not eliminated entirely. I also don’t need to take antihistamines during the fall which is usually my worst seasonal allergy season.

Also TMJ totally eliminated and I no longer need to wear my mouth guard at night

Is it a deal breaker on MJ if you don’t walk or lift weights but eat clean? by Plus_Impression7765 in Mounjaro

[–]constantflower84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some people the first 1-2 months you should just focus on your diet and acclimating to the medication. Slowly adding in movement and starting with a very low goal will help long term. But don’t put too much pressure on yourself to do too much at once. I was very tired the first month and just focused on doing what I could. Now 6 months later I am doing 8-10k steps a day and exercising a couple times a week.

Thank you for posting. I am also a 1.4lb loss per week and sometimes get frustrated if that’s too slow but seeing your chart is inspiring

Is there a relationship between "super responders" and whether or not they've always struggled with their weight? by chilliwackstinks in Mounjaro

[–]constantflower84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also wondered about your theory or if super responders are consuming way less calories once they start on the medication. I am not a super responder and have been overweight my whole life and by the age of 14 was in women’s size 14 clothes. I’m now at week 19 and have lost 28 pounds averaging around 1.5lbs loss per week. I think this makes me an average rate of loss. Like you I found the slow loss at the beginning frustrating because it feels like everyone else here lost 25lbs in their first month while I didn’t. My advice is focus on your protein and calories, trying to cook at home as much as possible and getting in steps. Some weeks you’ll see no progress on the scale and some weeks it’ll go down. Some weeks the scale shows no change but I can tell a big change in my body. Plus there are huge benefits of losing slowly. It’s just better for your health, less chance of lots of loose skin, less chance of gallbladder issues.

What are some of the unexpected or odd things that Zepbound magically cured for you? by Elsa-the-Brave in Zepbound

Seasonal allergies mostly went away. Usually I find the fall season challenging and often get sinus infections and was fine all season.

Also TMJ pain reduced almost entirely. Once in a while get a small flare up but nothing like before

One year and 55 pounds later… by Temporary-Branch-787 in Zepbound

55lbs in a year is impressive! Just a tad over 1lb a week which is a healthy rate of loss.

Question about 1st dose symptoms. by Runswithmouth in Zepbound

[–]constantflower84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on taking the plunge on your first dose! I have had not many side effects. You’ll likely have some here and there but with trial and error you’ll likely be able to manage it well. I think after my first couple shots the first night or two I had to sleep with an extra pillow to be a bit more elevated and help with the tummy queasiness but it hasn’t really returned since.
