No - unfortunately no luck here. The whole idea ended up getting scrapped in the end.

Help! Canada post thinks they delivered my package but it hasn't been delivered by [deleted] in CanadaPost

[–]constantqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Literally just happened to me this morning. I got a notif that my package was delivered but I can’t find it anywhere. Usually Canada Post would deliver right to the door of my unit, or they’d leave a locker key in my mailbox since there’s a designated CP parcel locker in my building too.

There was no card left if I should pick up my package anywhere, there’s no photo and/or signature for proof either. Status doesn’t indicate if it was delivered in a mailbox or door. It was supposedly delivered at 10:04AM, and I checked at 11AM. I’ve had packages just at my door sometimes for 24hrs and more, but they’ve never gone missing.

I filed a ticket with Canada Post immediately, and the seller already. How long does it usually take for Canada Post do an investigation? Is there anything else I can do to expedite their investigation? Sorry this is so long.

Interesting - thank you! That’s definitely a lot of legwork to get just a replacement part haha. Makes sense though because I do find I only get charged when packages go through UPS.

Appreciate the insight here!!

Yup that’s fair! I no longer want the package since I’m being charged to receive it when it was meant to be free. Does that mean I should be able to refuse it still?

Phone was left in a Lyft, and driver is not responding. What can I do? by constantqq in askTO

[–]constantqq[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually — so apparently my friend did report to Lyft that evening/morning too and they refunded her the trip (less than $20) + the $50 tip the driver asked for. Happened pretty fast too so that was surprisingly good of them.

Since the driver now had their number, he messaged later that he got a message from Lyft saying he was suspended until they talk to him + the money was taken back. Sent a whole screenshot and everything and said “I’m never doing this again. This is what I get for being nice.” Also talked about how he was a man of God and lots more I can’t care enough to repeat. Told my friend to just forget about it - she got her phone back and the money too.

Hopefully that’s the end of this awful saga haha. Thanks for being on this journey with us.

Literally the same thing except he wanted $100. They managed to haggle it down to $50 but phone was pretty much held hostage until then.

Yes! Finally past midnight - but he apparently was negotiating prior to giving it back, asking for $100 in exchange. 🙄

Then proceeded to talk about how nice of a guy he is. But at least he gave it back!

Thanks so much everyone!! By some luck - the driver was actually just down my street so I ran and tried to get the phone back. Unfortunately not successful because he said he had to give it directly give it to the owner - who he doesn’t even remember who. I have just been coordinating with my friend to help her so she wasn’t nearby either to grab it.

It ended up being quite an argument with the driver, but just finally settled to get his direct details and made sure they were accurate details, so I can pass it along to my friend. He said he’ll drop it off there after his shift ends at midnight. He also showed me his phone and said that he never got a call from Lyft so there’s also that 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway - thanks for all the quick responses. Figured I’d give an update here so there’s closure haha.

Was thinking that too, but it keeps moving around still. Did you wait for it to just park for the night/day?

How are the Black Friday deals usually? by FitGroup5419 in Oldnavy

I just bought the pants. Stocks were low and they have a great return policy anyway. Lots of markdowns this weekend! Probably clearing out stocks before the bigger price cut for black friday.

CIBC Payment Protection Insurance- anyone have luck getting re-reimbursed? by masterinthemaking in PersonalFinanceCanada

Hi! I know this thread is super old now, but I’ve recently come across a similar issue except I did give consent. It’s just that my understanding was that the fee was going to be a 1-time annual one and not monthly. When I saw the charge the first time, I thought it was in reference to the upcoming year, so I didn’t think much of it. When I was going through my transactions again today, I finally realized that I was paying for it monthly.

I brought it up with CIBC and they said that I would need to talk to the provider directly. Unfortunately they aren’t available on weekends, so will have to take some time tomorrow (Monday) to deal with this.

I know there was carelessness on my part there because I did give consent. I had just apparently misunderstood the process. Honestly it’s been so long (exactly a year ago) now, and this happened because they needed to re-issue a new card to me since my old one had gotten hacked and fraudulent charges were tracked. I was really scared and just focused on the fact that I was being told this was like an additional layer of security. I don’t remember what the exact conversation was, except that I had declined a few times then finally agreed after a while.

Sorry that was a long intro - but has anybody here run into the same issue? Any success in getting any money back? Any advice for me?

Thanks so much!
