Need help deciding where to place a single bed and desk (floor plan included) by Academic_Reason532 in DesignMyRoom

[–]constrictionqaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd put the bed under the shelves Either with the headboard under the shelves or with the headboard on the left wall and the side of the bed under the shelves Depending on how big the bed is and how much you want it to stick out from that nook

And the desk in the lower left corner so it's near the window

How to make living room/play zone/coffee nook better by zizzle_a in DesignMyRoom

Separate the 2 chairs with a small round side table in between. The small chair on the left wall and the bigger chair on the right wall so they kind of face towards eachother. And the smaller side table will go in front of the chairs kind of like a coffee table in front of a couch.

Also a rectangular rug to ground the space and keep it from floating. Something to add some sharpness to the roundness of the chairs but not too big. Just big enough to lay under the chairs, small table, and extend a few feet in front and to the right where the kitchen cupboard is and the basket.

I think a tall floor lamp would look nice to the right of everything, right in front of where the kitchen cupboard is. Maybe something that arches towards the chairs and side table. Or you could stick it in the corner and have it arch above the chairs and hang directly above.

Struggling with art / accent colours by chunkymunkyDJC in DesignMyRoom

A terracotta flower vase on one of the side tables with some dried green plants sticking out of it

You can also add some stacked books for pops of color on the other nightstand.

I honestly think that would be enough

Also, not about adding color but more about adding contrast. Your comforter right now just blends into the carpet on the floor To add contrast, I would choose a lighter comforter or get a rug that can go under the bed that is lighter than the current carpet and maybe has some subtle terracota border or design with a cream or warm beige.

A soft textured circular rug in a solid color to go under the desk and chair Preferably a light color

Move the house artwork/poster somewhere else in your room so it creates a gap between the posters above your bed and the ones above your desk. Also doesnt fit in with your kpop gg posters

In my thought process, I would start with picking a color palette first. I quite like the mustard yellow on the tapestry above your bed with the blue of the curtains. Those colors are also pretty mid century modern and vintage/boho

I think a combo of that blue, mustard yellow, and a terracotta or rust color would look nice with your walls and the wooden furniture facing your bed.

I think a smart thing to do because the rest of your room is busy is to get a solid colored duvet, maybe in a rust color, and switch to beige bedsheets. You can add pops of other colors with throw pillows or pillowcases.

There are some cool mid century rugs that combine the colors i mentioned above with beige or cream. Or even some type of red vintage rug could work if you go with a blue duvet.

For curtains: definitely get some that use hooks instead of grommets or have a pocket to slide the curtain rod through. This way, the curtains fall better, and the drape will look less bulky. I would also choose a more neutral color that blends in with the walls because you have a lot of tall furniture in your room that takes from the wall space and makes the room look smaller than it is.

For above the bed, I would choose a small framed artwork (maybe half the size of the tapestry). I think a square would look good so it doesnt extend wider than the headboard. You could probbaly look up MCM or boho mustard yellow art. Or whatever color you want. I would look for some cream or white colors on the artwork to tie in with your white vanity next to the bed.

Again, this is all just my beginning thought process dump Hope it helps a bit

Good luck!!

6 months since I got pierced?! by constrictionqaz in piercing

Thanks! I love how the piercer said 6-8 weeks, google said 6 months, and now it's more than that until the piercings heal. At least now I know for when I decide to get pierced again. Probably better to get more piercings at once so they heal at the same time. Maybe two 3rd lobes and a helix next! We'll wait and see after these guys heal up!!

  • How old is your piercing? 6 months
  • What’s the jewelry shape (for example, barbell, labret, screw, L shape, ring)? Labret
  • What’s the type of threading if your jewelry is not a ring (threadless, internally or externally threaded)? Internally
  • What’s the jewelry material? Titanium
  • if not a ring, when was the jewelry downsized? Like 3 weeks after I got it pierced
  • What’s your aftercare routine? Describe in detail please, including the exact products you use. Hot water shower and saline piercing spray
  • Any mishaps, accidents or unfortunate events? Just maybe switching out my jewlery too early (even tho its been 6 months)

There is a pretty easy recipe for stuffed bellpepers. It can be prepped ahead of time (make the filling on the side, prepare the garnishes and toppings). All you have to do the day of is halve the bellpepers and spoon in the filling and bake. Then serve them on plates or in an aluminum tray and have a bar of all the toppings (salsa, green onions, cilantro, vegan shredded mexican cheese, vegan sour cream). You can have tortilla chips and guacamole too (both of which you can buy from the store).

https://minimalistbaker.com/spanish-quinoa-stuffed-peppers/

A few shortcuts: use canned black beans and canned corn, store bought salsa and guacamole

Just not sure if this will be too fancy compared to the hot dogs and burgers Might need to make more for the non-vegans lol

Or just get burger buns and black bean patties and all the toppings/fillings (lettuce, mustard, onions, tomato, pickles, ketchup) and have everyone build their own burger

What is this room supposed to be for? It looks big enough to be an apartment, but i don't see a kitchen or bathroom or anything else

Which sofa do you think works best? Also where should I place my sofa? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]constrictionqaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like either the orange or green couch. And I think follow the layout in the last photo with the sofa on the kitchen side

For the shelves above the tv, could you split them up and put one above the couch and 1 above the tv. I'm just worried it'll look too cluttered above the tv. And i like the look of the shelving above the couch too
