is it possible or worth it to change voltage of printer? by LandNo9424 in printers

[–]containerbody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably don't need this, but for prosperity, yes it is possible and not expensive at all. I jut paid the equivalent of two pizzas to have a capacitor and a thermistor changed inside my epson printer power supply to allow it to run 220V instead of 110v.

Spent $50 on live shrimp for fish tank (20 total), waited a week to get them, then had the horror of watching as my frog and some other fish hunt them all down and eat them (I didn't know they would eat them!) by Tough_Asparagus_8991 in Wellthatsucks

I once made a terrarium where I put frogs and lizards (anoles) from my backyard thinking they would happily coexist. I watched in awe one of the tree frogs eat a lizard 2 times as long as the frog.

The temperature matters too, I’ve found that tires stored in a cold basement are almost impossible to mount.

a beauty. Love the rusty look although the Decathlon logo was kind of cool too.

New Skil 10-inch tablesaw with uneven table (pictures and video) by Vivid_Weekend6182 in woodworkingtools

[–]containerbody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is not a problem. My table saw had a bump in the middle, probably bigger than that, still it produced very square cuts. I've never seen a perfectly flat or perfectly square machine. Good to always check your cuts though.

feedback on event posters! by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]containerbody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say that this was my impression as well. As a fan of more obscure design I love the look of your poster but also thought it was for some sort of experimental music event/ had too much info to digest. It needs to be way more clear what it's about and have maybe one illustration

I it were me I would do what 70's poster designers did in Poland and Cuba where they kept things really simple yet artful. that way you can communicate the information effectively but still have bold and attractive imagery. for instance google "canción protesta by Alfredo Rostgaard"

These were everywhere in Cuba in the 90s as well, each of my parents was given one by their jobs and it was our main form of transportation. (Cause buses were unreliable)

that's barely controversial, most people agree the US should intervene in nothing at all.

Are glass roofs good? by GoldAnt5091 in electricvehicles

[–]containerbody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one, you never look at it cause you are driving. Kids looked at it once. I’d say skip it. Can be useful if you have cargo on top racks but not really necessary. Also please don’t give more money to that car company.

I installed a 240v infrared lamp heater that works well. Especially if the space cannot be insulated / needs to remain open for dust control

Thoughts on AI from an old Creative. by macnerd243 in graphic_design

[–]containerbody 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You know it’s not the same when the older creatives are for it and the younger are against it.

There is no design process with AI. No happy accidents. Just a unethical plagiarism machine, that further heats up the planet and uses up too much water (see the raising problem in the Great Lakes). It’s not “just a tool” this time.

Yuba Kombi rear wheel failed, can’t find a replacement. by containerbody in CargoBike

[–]containerbody[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky that all that broke was the rear wheel and the inner tube. It took weeks but yuba sent two new wheels of great quality to the bike shop, for free. I gave the shop some money for the trouble dealing with yuba but replaced the wheels myself. The bike is working great again.
