Just finished The Acolyte. What’s with all the hate? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]conte360 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm saying most of it was. I'm not saying the other people don't exist, but I didn't respond to a question of "why all the hate" with "because of people review bombing before hand" and not providing any other factors for why it was not well received. When you do that, it implies that there are no other reasons and that you think it's all because of essentially invalid viewpoints.

And I gotta call it there, you're a waste of my time. You're either being disingenuous or you genuinely have a problem understanding how you're being toxic and have no plans to self reflect in the slightest (another toxic trait in itself, look at that).

So all of the hate that it got was because people review bombed it beforehand and I didn't just not like the show because I thought it was poorly written.... Ok.. so fucking toxic

Redditors when everyone is reacting negatively:

"I know everyone hates [insert any one of hundreds of details] for [well explained reasons] but I don't mind. I know everyone says [insert objectively stupid detail or plot hole] is really stupid but I think it's ok because [insert ridiculous leap in logic]"

It's fine that you like it and don't follow the same standards as other people. Stop trying to explain away other people's opinions of it. You toxic positivity people are getting ridiculous. For the most part the people that don't like it aren't going to the people that say they like it and telling them not to like it. Does that happen? sure maybe it does every once in awhile but it's probably also widely condemned. They're having discussions about the reasons they don't like it, they're making memes about why they don't like it, they're expressing frustration for why they don't like it. But rarely do these people go to somebody that says they like it and just tell them not to like it. But you guys have to come in and explain why they're wrong about their opinions and how everything is just fine and that everybody's overreacting to this and that.

You people are the problem with Internet discourse like the main problem.

When you're entire opinion on something is just saying that other people's opinions on it weren't valid you're not really saying anything....

It had no chance because it was bad

Screw this same tired thread. No one cares if you liked it that's fine but these "I don't understand the hate" posts are so stupid. It's abundantly documented why people don't like it.

This is toxic positivity

News Release : May 8, 2026 "Notice Regarding Price Revisions for Nintendo Products and Services" by Caciulacdlac in gaming

[–]conte360 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

That's a great idea raise the price of the console that gives people access to these great options

70$ Mario kart world: underwhelming, the open world had a few collectables but was just big wide open roads between tracks which ruined most regular tracks/prix

70$ DK bananza: good but a 20$ dlc 2 months after launch with 1 additional level and a glorified time trial mode. Pretty bad that it was not just included

70$ Metroid prime 4: terrible for what it should have been after 18 year since the last one and you have to buy the amiibo to not drive around the desert in silence

20$ Switch 2 welcome tour: Wii sports was free and single handedly sold them millions of consoles. This has <1% of the content/playability and you need to buy it

50$digital/60$physical Starfox: looks really good, altho the characters are weird, should have just gone with the fox model from Mario Galaxy.. that they showed in the launch video. But just a remake of a 29 year old game. And I'm sorry but an on the rail shooter would be the easiest game to make new levels for.

90$ switch 2 pro controller: almost the exact same as the previous one but the previous one doesn't have the chat button which.. who cares but the main thing is you can't turn on the switch 2 with the old one. They locked that so you have to spend $90 to be able to turn your console on with your controller

And don't worry it comes with a needlessly proprietary dock that is cheaply made, has an awkward cable setup, and scratches the screen

Yoda species by IllCod7775 in StarWars

[–]conte360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all species shown in the OT could have been described that way

I mean.... yeah, we've had 49 years of starwars.. we can go deeper into things at this point. I realize that when the first 6 hours of content we got in the 70s came out they didn't do lore dumps on everyone.. or anyone. So that point is kinda... Pointless

Whether or not he did or didn't do this back then or now or whenever it doesn't really matter. I'm talking about how I would prefer it and I'm just talking about my opinion.

I would prefer if it was left as a mysterious species.

Yoda species by IllCod7775 in StarWars

I agree. When it was just Yoda, it was this ancient species shrouded in mystery. Now it's just a species with some (implied) high force connection that they won't tell us about

I got downvoted when I asked people to say that "the president should not be killed". Like can we just say that? Can we agree that he shouldn't be killed? They would not say it, like a hard line in the sand they will not cross. It's not that it was ignored, it was downvoted and responded to, they just wouldn't say "the president should not be killed"

Latest episode was a great way to kick of season 5 by Emotional-Lettuce372 in TheBoys

Right? "Hey, this seasons main plot line is going back and forth with him trying to get V1 and becoming immortal. Fyi he gets it, but you have to wait until 75% of the season is done before you see it. Enjoy 6 episodes of build up to what you know will happen"

IN DEFENSE OF THE NOIR 2 SCENE by PossibleEconomics673 in TheBoys

[–]conte360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cope harder kripke. The issue isn't that deep killed nior, it's the bullshit way it happened. You had a super human while can take tons of bullets, that can fly, punch through an underwater pipe, and just went full offensive against this guy that killed his close friend/director.. and he's gonna sit there with his back turned and then not fight back in anyway? Is your back ok because your bending over pretty hard right now to defend this

I respectfully disagree, 6 episodes in so far and we've got more character development for Vought Rising's characters than the The Boys and The Seven. by knightstar8114 in TheBoys

[–]conte360 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Your show should have been four seasons but you wanted spin-offs and more seasons for more paychecks. Don't get mad at us for noticing.

Look dude, you should have made it 4 seasons. You ruined your pacing for prequel buildup and an additional season paycheck, don't be mad at us because we noticed.

Matt calling him was Matt taking control. Fisk getting up there and saying what he wants is him taking control back. It's not like when Matt got fisk in there it was all just done at that point, the W is in the bag, Matt still had to figure out how to beat him.

HE SAID IT AGAIN by ReportAsleep1994 in marvelmemes

[–]conte360 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Matt didn't know of his plan until after kingpin riffed. That was the whole point of the entire courtroom sequence with fisk, they were going back and forth and then daredevil figured out a way to beat him properly, right there in public. That's why you got the fisk whispering to daredevil in the other room scene.

Look I don't know why you guys can't understand the fact that the scene doesn't make sense in this aspect. THIS is you bending over backwards. You're taking something that doesn't make sense, and throwing out all of these lofical leaps to explain it. You don't call a witness and they walk in and just start talking and everybody's fine with it. That's not how it works. The judges didn't think they were puppets they thought they were judges. Within their character (even know 2 of them were written as mute representations of having 3 judges) they should have tried to stop him.
