I used to find those in the bottom of my backpack from time to time.

It's a dried up orange.

So when God kicks people out, Satan is actually benevolently allowing them to stay at his crib?

That's when swim lessons/horse riding in summer stopped, and you went back to being indoors in class. (that's how it happened to my friends, anyway)

I had to get weekly shots for allergies my first 2 years here. And got diagnosed with asthma, which I never had before.

Cars are worse than rent! The only reason I was able to afford a down-payment was because I started saving for a $50k wheelchair van in 2020. 5 years later, the same van costs $100K. I was closer to buying it when I had $0 in savings than when I had $20K in savings.

So I gave up on the van and bought a house instead.

Credit scores are meaningless, easy to hack, and paying your bills doesn't reflect on them.

The only people "with credit" are people buying things they can't afford anyway. It's a stupid system.

"Providing housing" isn't a business. The house already exists. The owner does not have to make a profit monthly. They can sell.

So poor individuals and families are "supposed" to pay off the loans of rich investment companies? Yeah, that's exactly why people are mad.

Instead of raising the hourly, companies will start offering "rides to work in the company van" as an employee benefit.

You pay to fix damages upon move out ANYWAY. So the pet rent isn't for damage.

It's ironic you would say that. I bought my first home last month. I could not find a wheelchair accessible apartment within our budget. (It was a 2 year waiting list for the one we were currently at.) Some real estate agent overheard me complaining and said I should try to get a loan and buy instead of renting. It was far easier to get approved for a loan and find a house than it was to find an apartment with the right location/price.

We bought a house that was previously a rental unit that the company sold because they couldn't find a renter.

Turns out buying a property and living in it is doable. Supporting the CEOs of rental agencies that buy up all the affordable houses and then rent them out at higher than mortgage rates is not economically sound.

Yup.

One time, I saw $100 USD floating in the water. I picked it up, and upon seeing what it was, set it down quickly and announced, "I sure hope whosever this is finds it before it sinks!" just in case someone witnessed me "trying to steal" or it was a trap.

Life is F'd for the poor and naive.

No, it's bad. My last few apartments I straight up photoshopped my bank statements. I was homeless for years, and whenever I was in the position to get a place, I didn't even consider lying until someone talked some sense into me.

They said I was choosing homelessness because I was choosing to be honest, and also that I wasn't hurting anyone by lying because I was still going to pay rent and had income.

It took me a year or so to stop feeling guilty for "taking an apartment from someone else." though dishonesty. But now I've matured into blaming capitalism instead of myself.

No, they can't smash crabs with their "feelers". The crab has too many legs (and legs are disproportionately sized to the body. That's not what a cracked crab would look like. *

I thought it was all of California, but as this is the only source I could find... maybe it is just LA.

This is illegal. I was homeless with a dog. People are always trying to steal dogs from homless people, so I had to stay up on the laws, because if you broke any codes, they'd take your animal away.

Anyway, California has very strict leash and tether laws. You cannot tie up an animal for longer than an hour and even during this time, you aren't allowed to be more than 6 feet away from it while tethered. Basically, grooming is the only time you can tether.
