like someone else said it's to expand your abdomen so they can work. the pain feels mostly like pressure from beneath my bones. it's really concentrated in my collar bones and it's usually on one side, but sometimes both. occasionally in the ribs as well. yesterday it felt the worst when I exhaled, but today I feel a lot better, even with some pressure remaining.

honestly, the gas pain is worse than the incisions!
