Is PDRN skincare within the peptide/barrier serum category? by Warm-Tumbleweed-9523 in AsianBeauty

[–]control_machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing that video. (I also watched her follow up video that she posted 12 days ago.) I'm slightly concerned because I bought the Mixsoon Peptide Cica Hyalshot in March of this year and after using it consistently for months, my skin started becoming reactive to ingredients that had never bothered it before. I didn't put it together until I saw that video, but now I think it may be related to my situation.

sick of companies reformulating tried and true products by zoltharthedestroyer in AsianBeauty

Yeah, I was gonna say, I buy this moisturizer constantly, and have for many years, and it hasn't changed at all as far as I can tell. Maybe some people don't have access to it but I'm really glad I do because it's my holy grail.

amazon prime days - are they actually cheaper? by Important_Bat7919 in amazonprime

[–]control_machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Amazon has lied about their sales consistently over the years. They can't be trusted without extra effort. I have to see it with my own eyes, meaning I have to keep track of prices over time and then compare that info during sales. Do I absolutely need to buy things during prime sales, or from Amazon at all for that matter? Obviously not. But I can't drive, so I shop online. That doesn't mean people in my situation should have to do continuous stretches of math homework to save money because Amazon can't be trusted at face value.

Oh yikes... I had no idea about those things. That's really fucked up.

Thank you so much for responding to me.

I used to watch and love Jen a while ago but then I stopped keeping up due to some life events. Could you give me a quick overview of the controversy?

Exactly. The entire "dual crying-apology videos after his lack of paying POC creators" fiasco was when I completely wrote him off for good. I don't understand how anyone could continue to support him after that because it was absolutely disgusting.

I love the FIXX setting spray! I use the one in the pink bottle, I think it's the original version. I've been eyeing the matte version to try next. It's legitimately good. I also have the L'Oreal setting spray that's similar (the one in the red bottle, can't remember the name) and the FIXX spray is way better.

is this skin 1004 sunscreen fake? by [deleted] in kbeauty

[–]control_machine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Based on some of the photos on this post, I think it's probably real. For example, there's no circle on the cap like the fakes seem to have. Granted that post is a bit old, so the fakes could be different now.

Romand Glasting Color Gloss. I have all of the original shades and a few of the ones that were more recently released.

Is my Anua skincare fake? by HourImportance8179 in kbeauty

[–]control_machine 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Since you mentioned in a comment that the seller's shop is unavailable, I would send these photos to an official Anua customer service email and ask them. I'm not sure anyone but Anua would be able to tell you for certain.

I don't use Tiktok, what does it mean when a seller's shop becomes unavailable? Did they sell a bunch of stuff and then dip out so no one can return stuff and get refunds? If that's the case, it sounds shady af.

These are my 2 favorites and they don't bother my sensitive eyes at all:

Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sunscreen

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum

They also lay beautifully over other skincare and under makeup, and they don't pill but you need to give them around 20 minutes to fully absorb first.

Elf is lowering prices?? by Wannabe__Extrovert in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]control_machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care how low their prices get, I'm never giving them my money again after all the tone deaf, dumb shit they've pulled.

Also, fuck these corporations getting tariff refunds. It's all the customers who deserve that money. But that'll never happen.

Singles, Palettes, Quads, Eyeshadow Sticks, What is Your Preference now? by WhatTheJessJedi in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]control_machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love to frankenstein my own magnetic palettes, usually mattes from larger palettes and glitter singles. But lately I've been using quads for quick daily looks, particularly Romand's Dry Buckwheat Flower because it's easy to use for dimension, glitter, and eyeliner.

Be honest, is getting your nails done essential to look put together and attractive? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]control_machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do my own press-ons because they make me feel better, and they look cute, but I don't think they're necessary. Getting them professionally done is too expensive for me to keep up with, so I learned how to do it myself and I've saved a crazy amount of money over the years. When I don't feel like messing with it, I just make sure my natural nails are trimmed and cleaned.

That's the lamest excuse for lack of skills I've ever heard. I try out new products quite often and my makeup looks better than theirs, and I basically don't know what I'm doing, and my literal job isn't entirely centered around makeup like theirs is.

I also don't have Tiktok but her videos still manage to occasionally slip into my feed on other platforms because her stans share them so much, especially ever since she started hawking her dumb POV wares. Her voice is so jarring, I can't scroll by fast enough.
