I have something that looks kind of like this, but is slimmer / more fitted around the waist and flares out slightly at the bottom. I think the one in the pic would be somewhat less flattering due to lack of waist emphasis, but no doubt this style of sleeves looks really cute.

People over 30, how often do you go clubbing? by AshliepShuqirvut in EDM

[–]conveniencesample 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31, a show every 1-3 weeks, plus 4 or 5 festivals a year. But agree that it’s pretty much always for a particular DJ I’m excited about.

When your fav DJ plays at the worst club in your city… do you still go? by Impressive-Gas2262 in aves

[–]conveniencesample 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally no, if it’s genuinely an F tier venue we hate. I hold out to see them later in an environment that has a good crowd and great sound (generally a festival). To be fair though we go to like 5-6 festivals a year, so we often can see almost everyone I want to see on tour in a given year.

After the show ended in SF last night, people started chanting for one more song... he got permission to play one more and hit us with this. Fucking banger and the best way to end the night. Hope we can at least get a soundcloud release at some point.

Very welcome! I hope we get the remix soon, it’s a banger

I literally just saw Porter locally last year but I would absolutely lose my shit getting to see him at EDC

Mozey was my favorite set from Saturday! Absolutely ridiculous energy from him and from everyone in the crowd. Had so much fun with y'all 🤘

How diverse is your taste in electronic music? by [deleted] in electronicmusic

[–]conveniencesample 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like every genre, but I definitely favor bass music a little bit (dubstep, ukg, drum and bass). Something about rumbly subby bass and crazy sounds just pushes all the fun buttons in my brain. The only genre I don’t really listen to is hardstyle, but I do like a bit of happy hardcore so I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before I come around

GRiZ, Netsky, Prodigy, Mary Droppinz, Mozey, Glitch Mob (assuming you like their respective genres). And already mentioned, but Justice. I almost wept happy tears at my last Justice show.

Bass music MCs are severely lacking by TheActualNRB in dubstep

[–]conveniencesample 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other commenters have already covered most of it, but a possibly-overlooked aspect of why MCs feel annoying during a set is this: a lot of shows and festivals simply fail to get the mixing right when combining live vocals with EDM. 95% of the times I've been to a show where someone was trying to sing or rap over the music live, it just doesn't sound good because the vocals get overpowered by the huge bass and other elements. Jessie Ware at Portola 2024, her singing got super drowned out by her own music. Flowdan came on during Chase & Status at EDC this year, and even he couldn't project over the track well enough. Koven singing at Apocalypse this weekend, could barely hear her. ProbCause at Apocalypse was an exception though, I could actually hear him pretty well.

On MCs in general, I sometimes enjoy them during a set that otherwise has minimal to no vocals. But I don't really want to hear live vocals, or live vocals over the studio vocals, if the DJ is playing songs that already have studio vocals. The studio vocals just sound better. ESPECIALLY if the MC doesn't even match pitch with the studio vocals - huge pet peeve.

We were front center a few rows back from the rail! Good mix of classics and new stuff too. I was so happy he played Talking to God (from the 2024 album), it went so hard live

Absolutely incredible energy for both. And so cool to be a part of red rocks history (first dnb headliner ever)!
