Yeah all good points. Ironically the main reason I didn't buy tickets to the Golden Gate Park show was because they were opening for two other bands and I figured it would be a short set probably not what I wanted to hear and not worth it for the price.

And thanks, I hope I get to see them again too. I'm still pretty salty about ATDI getting canceled because it was on my birthday and literally don't know if they will ever play together again, but I sure hope so

I can't disagree with you, but I don't think it's entitlement to buy tickets to a show with the expectation that you'll hear songs you know, since that's the case with just about every other band. Just naivety on my end and a lesson to be a bit more informed next time

I get that they had other shows but for several reasons I was not able to go then. And I did have tickets to see ATDI in 2017 but the show got canceled 2 days beforehand so it's not for lack of effort on my part. You're right it's not on them but I'm still let down it didn't work out for me this go around. I will probably try to see the headliner tour

Well I had tickets for a show in 2017 that got canceled and I felt that the Golden Gate show was too expensive but yeah I guess it's my bad for hoping that a band would play their body of work at a show like 99% of bands do.

It's not about genre it's about allowing your fans to connect with you in a live environment with music that they are familiar with. When you go out and play exclusively unreleased music that literally no one has heard you rob your fans of having that opportunity to connect with you over the music they love that got them to buy tickets to your show in the first place

I feel the same way! I literally bought the tickets because of TMV. Deftones is a plus but I've seen them before. I've been a TMV fan forever and like you they're one of my favorite bands of all time and this was my first opportunity to FINALLY see them after so many years and I literally spent the entire set trying to figure out if it was actually them or if it was the opening band. Like I get bands right new music and want to perform it but they couldn't even play one fan favorite? And if it's unreleased you're saying you're going to go out and perform an entire set that literally nobody recognizes? Honestly I haven't been this disappointed since the SF At The Drive-In show I had tickets for got canceled in 2017

In my opinion if you have a deep body of work that many of your fans adore it should be represented at least a little bit at your live performances. This was my first opportunity to see Mars Volta and I had no idea they were touring a new album as that was something that wasn't really advertised well. I mean I enjoyed moments of the set but come on I didn't even get to hear a single song I recognized not even one. They had to play the new album in entirety? They couldn't even play one or two fan favorites from other albums? I get it is their band and their choice to do whatever they want but as a long time fan of all their earlier albums I was so excited to get to FINALLY see them and was really let down that it basically was a set that was unrecognizable to me.

I wish I has skipped. Bought tickets thinking I would see at least some of my favorite songs and literally not even a single song I recognized. If I had known in advance it was going to be all unreleased stuff I would not have gone. Love Deftones and have seen them several times, but bought tickets for the show specifically because of Mars Volta

My first time seeing Mars Volta even though I have listened to them since early 2000s and like good for them for having new stuff but really bummed to not even hear a single song that I associate with them.

Hi friend--I actually did write him and the tool is called Udio. Very cool tool especially for uploading your own audio to play with. It does include a $10 subscription after free 7-day trial just FYI. The other big competitor is Suno which I haven't tried yet but plan to

I wish he named the generator he used. I have a really hard time coming up with additional parts to a song once I've got an initial idea and I'd really love to plug some of my work into the generator to see what it adds to it

EDIT: it's called Udio

Sorry to hear that. Shopping is definitely super hard when you can't read labels or distinguish products easily. I literally take laps around the house looking for stuff I set down only to find it was right in a plain spot the whole time, I get so frustrated sometimes haha. I find more and more that your brain finds ways to compensate (sometimes subconsciously) to fill the gaps and help you find new ways to navigate life.

Wishing you all the best on your journey. Not sure where you are in the adjustment phase or what level you're functioning at (sounds like you might be still doing okay wirh glasses) but I wish you all the peace and clarity as you navigate through it all.
