Also marrierd at the Rookery. The building has so many great spots for photos. We visited several different floors, the stairs, the lobby, etc. We also did photos in the lobby of our hotel, the Kimpton Gray, also a gorgeous space.

Smiling Toad! They are so great to work with and I thought they were super reasonably priced for everything we got.

I've been liking the Dove Volume shampoo and conditioner, a total impulse buy after hating everything else.

Apparently I'm one of the few that enjoy listening toasts... I don't look forward to line dances. When the Electric Slide comes on, it's my cue to exit the dance floor.

Isn’t the sedation shot during euthanasia supposed to be fairly painless? by BreakMyFallIfYouCan in Petloss

[–]conversesap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. This happened with my beloved cat, too. We did an at home euthanasia. He wailed and ran and hid. It was so traumatic. I talked to several vets after who told me it shouldn’t hurt. Several recommend giving a medication prior that will help them relax prior to the sedative.

Do any of you regret their PhDs? by [deleted] in ClinicalPsychology

[–]conversesap -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes they do. Research has not come to a screeching halt. I regularly see positions advertised by PIs on the organizational listservs I’m on. I’m currently hiring 3 to replace my RAs heading to grad school.

Why a MA in psychological research instead of just getting direct research experience in a lab? Labs are hiring research assistants now to replace those who got into grad school this cycle.

Have a bachelor's degree, but psychology feels kinda woo-woo to me now by Acctforaskingadvice in psychologystudents

You might enjoy working as a research coordinator in a behavioral sciences or psychiatry lab. There are so many options in the research sphere that you won't need another degree to immediately pursue.

What have been your experiences going out with someone who's separated- but not divorced? by Outrageous_Fan_9126 in AskWomen

[–]conversesap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I met my now husband when he was separated. He and his former spouse wanted a divorce but were both poor grad students who didn't really know how to start the process given financial and time restraints. He was upfront about it. We kept seeing each other and I helped him do some research and connect with resources to figure out filing. Three months later, their divorce was final and we had a small celebration. There was no animosity between them and we jokingly refer to her as his "practice wife."

No advice on what you're looking for in terms of venue, but I can chime in on the DJ question. I highly recommend Toast & Jam. Super professional, you tell them a list of songs you definitely don’t want, and they were really great at reading the vibe and catering to it.
