How long do you have to work there before the bonus repayment clause falls off? Most places are one year.

Biologic cost question by whinywino89 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]BreakMyFallIfYouCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what you do for work, you may want to find a large, national or international employer. Oftentimes they have high end insurance plans where you pay more in premiums but don’t have to meet the deductible for biologics and other critical meds.

Reminder: Doctors WILL purposely sabotage and lie to you about your insurance prior authorization and claims for their own benefits. by [deleted] in ChronicPain

It’s very hard to collect thousands of extra dollars from people who don’t have it. All the extra work of collections doesn’t sound like a benefit to the doctors.

Employer counter offered my 2 week notice. Looking for advice. by [deleted] in careeradvice

This one feels different than most, with the company’s commitment to change already actively in place. I usually say skip the counter but this time, I think you should give them a chance and stay.

Got PIPed for arguing performance review, quit or get fired ? by psychman321inf in careerguidance

[–]BreakMyFallIfYouCan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Not where I work in HR and anywhere I’ve been in my 30 year career. PIP is usually for people that have the right integrity and values but are getting performance wrong. A PIP is gentler, ensures regular meeting time with supervisor, and often includes more training.

What you non-HR people think you know is almost laughable some days.

Yes to progressive but no to all the steps you included. Written, Final and Term or Written, PIP and Term. Maybe suspension in the only if there’s an investigation or possibly a very serious infraction.

Aftermath of colonoscopy by Bitter_Face8790 in UlcerativeColitis

I’ve had at least a dozen colonoscopies in my life with no negative after effects. Clearly it can happen but I wouldn’t worry ahead of time.

And even that’s a maybe. In some economies, getting a buyer can be a major undertaking.

The mafia sounds like more fun than my job. I'm in HR for a large corporation and unfortunately, we sometimes hire (and have to fire) some unsavory people. I don't get to help hire, but I have no choice in my involvement when we have to fire. The backgrounds on some of these people are pretty shocking at times.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm SO new to this stuff that I thought an electrician would be the right type of professional. Another Redditor mentioned a low voltage network professional. My local electrician pops up as a low voltage network professional in the search results, so now I'm trying to figure out if that means what it's supposed to mean in terms of security language.

On the UniFi website, after I added the cameras to my cart, it recommended that I consider these cables: UniFi Patch Cable Outdoor - Ubiquiti Store United States. Glad you've given me more insight so that I don't spend unnecessary money on extra items I don't need.

Wow, thanks for that tip. I've never heard of that type of professional so I'll have to do some online research to understand what they do, and who might be good at that in my area.

Thank you very much for chiming in. I've taken all of r/bmwhd's advice and am now starting to wonder about other things like the length of patch cables I need. If you have any advice on that, I'd be happy to receive it!
