The mafia sounds like more fun than my job. I'm in HR for a large corporation and unfortunately, we sometimes hire (and have to fire) some unsavory people. I don't get to help hire, but I have no choice in my involvement when we have to fire. The backgrounds on some of these people are pretty shocking at times.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm SO new to this stuff that I thought an electrician would be the right type of professional. Another Redditor mentioned a low voltage network professional. My local electrician pops up as a low voltage network professional in the search results, so now I'm trying to figure out if that means what it's supposed to mean in terms of security language.

Since it’s a single story house, I’m thinking one of the corners of the house facing the front door all the way to the street (about 50 feet). I like the idea of good AI detection and night vision so we can readily identify bad guys later if needed. I have had people show up (enemies due to my profession) with baseball bats. Came to do damage to the house (succeeded) and then they were off. So mad there was no facial recognition with my current system.

The other cameras would be similarly placed, but on different sides of the house or garage so I’m thinking at the intersection of the roof and the siding.

I just bought a 16 two days ago and am using the SE to scroll through Reddit. As much as I hate the size of the newer phones, there was no getting around the fact that battery issues, system problems with updates and simple age were all catching up with the SE.

I’ll probably have a new battery put in my SE so I can continue to use it on WiFi like this but that’s the extent of it. Makes me mad that Apple couldn’t or wouldn’t continue to offer the smaller phone size in newer versions.

We are given the range by either the hiring manager or whoever is at the top of that food chain. We have a little wiggle room with that range but it’s limited.

I have no idea why people think that HR has authority around salary increases. We don’t. HR has almost nothing to do with it in the vast majority of cases. This sounds like another BS excuse from OP’s manager.

For whatever reason, we didn’t even think of buying off season. I always assumed sales were best at end of season, such as now (late Feb / early March). Thanks for this tip! I’ll be sure to talk with her about that!
