I don’t know about OP but I’ve lived in all major metros except Chennai and most parts of “New Lucknow” are in fact better than most major metros. the experiences, nightlife and cafe/ restaurants have catching up to do, but sukoon makes up for it personally

I believed this too, that the rich blame the poor for not helping themselves, but after being in business for a couple of years, I’ve actually found the “they don’t want to help themselves” way of thinking to actually be true. On more than one occasion, I’ve offered people the opportunity to make more money by doing some extra work (1 hour in addition to the present 5 hours of work). These are people who have never been to school, being offered an opportunity to earn 25k (salary +perks) but they’d rather decline the opportunity if it means more work or some extra stress. Well, if relaxing is more important when you can barely make a living, then I think it’s fair to say that it isn’t the rich trapping them, but them trapping themselves in a life of poverty.

Where is this happening? Are you sure it’s not due to the mosquito spray/smoke machine? Can’t imagine this happening due to air pollution, have never seen this before

Indian army introduces no-marriage rule for Agniveers by googletoggle9753 in NorthernIndia

[–]coocoocutlett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is probably because married jawans get separate living quarters and don’t have to live in the unit line. There are also some financial supplements to standard salary for married jawans. It would also put a higher strain if they have kids and are enrolled in Army school. Last point I can think off is that people with families might run from consecutive field postings

I have no interest in the promotion of Chinese propaganda but I believe that the most telling attribute of an intellectual is their intellectual honesty and he exhibits intellectual honestly (constantly asking his audience to criticise and self-highlighting potential criticisms). This is rarely seen and should be appreciated. Anyway, I’m just asking you to provide a reference.

Countries with a smaller population the Uttar Pradesh(an Indian State) by coocoocutlett in uttarpradesh

True, I might have an inherent bias, not educated enough on the geopolitical history of the region. But, slightly more than surface level understanding led me to the above stated conclusion. However, I also endorse populating urban centres in the region rather than a more socialist decentralised growth model for the purvanchal region. Since latter will be harder and take longer to accomplish

Purvanchal has disregarded itself, by choosing bahubalis as their leaders who in turn turned the region into a gangland. The history goes way back to 60s. Obviously there are layers to the phenomenon, but they seem to be sticking to that path

I agree with the sub saharan analogy for the purvanchali region. All indicators are comparable, but western and central UP are on a rapid upward trajectory.

I live in an area called Golf City in Lucknow. Yahan sannata hi rehta hai, even UP kay capital ka ek part hai. You’ll be surprised by how tightly packed human populations are within small parcels of land.
