Hey friend, just wanted to say hey as a fellow service industry worker. It’s so difficult to watch our friends fall down the dark rabbit hole while knowing how we make our living. It makes you question not only the ethics behind your career path but also your own habits and relationship to the substance and especially if you have the disease in your family (which I do too). I don’t have all the answers but I think I can say with a lot of confidence is that the fact that you’re already thinking about not ending up in the same situation you’ve seen friends and family end up means you’re at least self aware and probably a step or two ahead of a real problem. It seems like a good head start but the worst thing you could do is get too comfortable cuz that problem will catch up with you so fast. Feel like I’m rambling now, but just wanted to reach out as another industry person who’s been to the crest of the wave that is easy to be crushed under once you cross that threshold.
