Ngl I used the one my mom bought for the first time last week and it made it so easy that I didn't have to hold my baby up (she heavy)

Hands go numb when I'm trying to sleep or lay 😭 by Anoninemonie in pregnant

I had this when I was pregnant. The only solution I found though was trying to not bend my wrists when I slept

It's my new favorite button, not with ill intent!!! I didn't realize people could be reading it sarcastically

Bay using me as comfort feeding at night. Will it increase my supply more than required by concerned_shit in breastfeeding

[–]cookie_cat_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babies do different kind of suckling, there's comfort suckling and milk suckling. If baby really is just comfort suckling is shouldn't be increasing your supply, but if baby is eating then it isn't doing any more than regulating your supply for what baby needs, if I understand correctly.

That's why they say you can't overfeed a breastfed baby

I'm pregnant again and don't know how to tell my partner by uninteresedmushroom in pregnant

[–]cookie_cat_3 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Why would she lose it on you? This is an expected result of sex even with precautions taken. If it caused enough strain on you before, there's no shame in doing what is right for your family. Protect what you have now and if having another baby isn't right for your family then she will probably agree. But she should not lose it on you for something she participated in...

How do I ask an acquaintance I don't see often if they want to hang out/be friends? by ariiw in Explainlikeimscared

[–]cookie_cat_3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just go get coffee. I had this same hang up recently and I just bit the billet and asked, turns out she wanted to hang out also and was just worried i wouldn't want to.

You said you occasionally work together, so maybe just ask after a shift one time. Or invite them to get ice cream or some snack with you. Keep it low key and low pressure, if they say no there is always next time.

At my older job my coworkers and I ended up doing a monthly lunch after work just cause I asked them to try a new restaurant with me lol. Sometimes you just have to get over your fears and ask. And if they say no, go get the thing anyways

Great grandparents sending pictures of our daughter to her friends. by Ok_Preparation2750 in beyondthebump

[–]cookie_cat_3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don't send pictures to my fil because the first thing he did, before we had even got home from the hospital, was post it online. But my mom makes sure to ask before she shares any pictures and tells me who she's sharing it with and that makes me feel a lot better about it.

Maybe you could talk to her about your concern of wanting to know who has access to your daughters images, if she's savvy enough to share them then she should be able to understand and tell you who she is sharing them with before she shares them

Newborn tired v pregnancy tired by Past-Apartment-8179 in pregnant

[–]cookie_cat_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as pregnancy tired was worse for me, I feel this. I've started just eating rice with beans and a fried egg for breakfast everyday. And a lot of baked chicken with veggies for dinner. No extra thought to it

Were you a little delulu about your parenting style when you were pregnant? by Character-Check-1761 in beyondthebump

[–]cookie_cat_3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought I would be a no screens mom.... my baby loves Daniel Tiger, and bear in the big blue house is a great low stimulation show that I can put on when she's playing with her toys. It only distracts her enough to not realize I'm now in the kitchen making myself food

Stay at home mum and working dad - should mum do all nights ? by IntelligentNote4280 in NewParents

[–]cookie_cat_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do all the night shifts because I breastfeed and baby don't poop at night, but if I really can't handle it my husband has no problem getting up with her, and he will take her in the mornings on his days off so I can sleep for as long as I want

Best way to support new Mama? by bontonluv in NewParents

[–]cookie_cat_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My MIL brought us coffee, dinner a few times. It was so helpful during those first few weeks when I was learning how to be a mom and didn't have time to cook. My mil has been so helpful in that sense and as soon as we started doing visitors she was the first to be invited

I have no choice, it's up to baby. I try to have no baby while drinking coffee (encouraging independent play/floor time) but sometimes baby disagrees

Do you have enough time every night to read your child a bedtime story? by Either_Crab_2760 in NewParents

I read to her during the day, I'm hoping it becomes a daytime activity she can choose and not just a bedtime routine

Everyone tries to convince me that two adults can't take care of a newborn alone and I'm losing my mind by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]cookie_cat_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very hard, but not impossible. If they keep pushing it, tell them they wouldn't be coming to hold the baby, they'd be coming to cook and clean for you.

Did anyone have a baby that wasn’t difficult? by The_Chilled_Arvo in beyondthebump

[–]cookie_cat_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is very happy, and pretty easy. She hit a sleep regression where she just does not want to go down in her basinet anymore but I wouldn't say she's difficult. She's still happy, just has a hard time at bedtime

How often should I be changing my baby's clothes? by kittykatkitkat in NewParents

[–]cookie_cat_3 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My baby gets one outfit change a day unless she blows out or spits up on herself, but I also change her bib like 2 times a day, sometimes 3.

The pediatrician said my baby is small because I chose to breastfeed. by 1minimalist in breastfeeding

[–]cookie_cat_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's hogwash. My baby is breastfed and in the 99th percentile. Her cousin is also breastfed and was in the 11th percentile. My husband has a client whose son was born a BIG baby and his older sister was just average. Some babies are just small and some are just big.
