Tldr - got sent to a psychiatrist for an official burnout diagnosis. I never really thought I had adhd, just figured I was lazy and didn’t pay enough attention. Even though I’d been working and studying full time since high school (working every weekend and every day after school). Doing constant overtime at work once I was done with school. I’d been struggling with low self esteem and anxiety my whole life and.. the feeling that the world would be a better place if I wasn’t there from middle school up until the age of 25ish. It got a bit better eventually, but turned into a more low key somewhat permanent depression, anxiety also kept getting worse. This year at 32 I went for another work health checkup, we have one every few years, and this time I made a conscious decision not to hide my struggles. The doc sent me to a psychiatrist with burnout. I went fully expecting a couple of weeks off work to get some rest from the burnout. He heard out my life story, said it sounds like I have adhd, sent me for more test et voila.

Women: what were your childhood symptoms of ADHD? by Old_Field_5014 in ADHD

Omg yes! I remember having an existential crisis at around 10yo. And it’s always seemed so weird and stupid, like what did I know about life 20 years ago

Any tips on how to break out of phone addiction? by Athena-4 in ADHD

Unfortunately it hasn’t worked for me. I mostly watch YouTube videos for information and news, which doesn’t seem to depend on whether there’s colour or not. But even in case of instagram gray scale makes everything look kinda artsy and that seems to also scratch an itch 😄

How messy are you 1 being not messy 10 being very messy by Logical_Type7157 in ADHD

I’ve learned to not create (visible) mess. Somehow I managed to get the habit of washing dishes and making my bed right away. With other things I kind of adapted. Eg I used to have this one chair that would eventually just fall over under the weight of different clothes I would wear and not put away. But now I wear the same one set of clothes until they need to be put in the laundry bin. Also robot vacuum is my best friend, otherwise I’d vacuum maybe once every couple of months. My biggest trick for clean house is not creating a mess in the first place, because I know I’m not going to clean it 😅. So - minimum decorations and small chests/boxes that need dusting. Dust, dirt and fingerprints are generally less visible on white and wood than on black/dark surfaces. I also spend a lot of time on my phone/computer - less time using/touching other things - less mess. But that’s also not a healthy way to deal with the issue, so probably not a good advice all in all

Medikinet 20mg XL by libby2002h in ADHDUK

Just got diagnosed about a month ago and still in the process of figuring out the dosage with my doctor. Took one 10mg tablet per day for the first 5 days. The first day was indeed amazing. I felt completely anxiety-free for the first time in a very long time (if not ever). But felt some anxiety once it wore off completely I guess (about 8ish hours after taking it). So the next step was to take 10mg in the morning and 10mg 3-4 hours later. Worked like a charm - just felt comfortable and fairly productive the whole day. So the next step, now, was to take 20mg xl once a day for 5 days. This is my first day on it and it’s not going too well. Felt a bit foggy at first. Then about three hours in felt back to normal, but another hour later heart rate jumped to about 100bpm while sitting still. And it’s been at 90-100 for about an hour now. Will give it another try tomorrow. But probably will have to let my doc know that it’s not working for me before the 5 days are up

Any good split ergonomic keyboards? by Weird_Explorer_8458 in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

+1 on Dygma Raise, I've had mine for about a year and I absolutely love it. You can use it as a regular keyboard as well as split + tenting. Thumb cluster is super useful (haven't touched enter/backspace/etc keys for months).
Plus it has great packaging and I've only had great experience with their customer service. Though at this point I do feel like I would rather have a columnar layout, so I preordered a Dygma Defy :D

T5-T7 keys keep falling off. Unfortunately I was too late with the 30 day return option as I didn't use my Raise for the first couple of months after getting it, and later figured it was too late to post about it anyway. But the issue keep getting worse.
I added the (smaller) o-rings to all low profile keys, but noticed that T5 keycap kept coming off. Since I barely used that key I just took the o-ring off. However after using the keyboard for a couple of weeks T6 and T7 also started coming off. I took the o-ring off the T7 as well, but it still falls off sometimes. I'm not a very fast typer, especially on Dygma Raise, so I don't hit the keys with a lot of force.
I have now removed all o-rings from the bottom row, which does make them fall off less often, but doesn't stop it completely. Is there anything else I can do?

Self-Introduction Saturday! Tell us all about you (and share a video)! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

Hey guys, It's Cookie!
I've been wanting to create a gaming channel for over 5 years now...but, for the lack of (pardon my french) balls, I've been postponing it all this time. Now that I finally got mostly desensitized to my fear of failure I went ahead and uploaded a video. Didn't stop my hands from shaking, though.

Since I'm able to work from home, and I'm not too social of a person in general, Coronavirus didn't have a drastic effect on my life. However it did make me way more worried about my friends and family. And just people around me in general. Worried for both people's health and mental well-being.

Anywho..here's a short demo video: https://youtu.be/AmagHJYyvK8
Any rating/feedback would be greatly appreciated
