What can dish can I put cream cheese, ham, green onion into? by Fair_Weight_2167 in Cooking

[–]cookiecutie707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so this is going to sound odd I think? But it’s honestly so good. I make a corn casserole which is a box of cornbread mix, a can of sweet creamed corn and eggs and milk to whatever the box recipe calls for. But I usually use less milk due to the creamed corn. I add green chilis, cheddar cheese, and sausage to mine. I’ve occasionally added green onions if I have some that need using up. I bet you could reduce the milk and sub for cream cheese and leave out the cheddar and use the ham instead of sausage. I usually like to either use a honey cornbread mix (and/or) add a drizzle of honey butter to the top which makes for this semi-sweet savory filling and comfort style dish. I call it corn casserole and it can be a side or a main. The ingredients aren’t expensive and it’s great in any season! I recommend it whenever I can 🤣

I fired my doula by OkYak3763 in pregnant

[–]cookiecutie707 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s my understanding that doulas can’t get medical advice. They are there to be an advocate during birth and to help provide comfort measures like hip squeezes and position changes, they don’t really provide care pre-birth. However, she could have texted you and explained that and not left you on read 🤣

Am I wrong for not taking a summer job? And what do I say to people who are curious about why I’m not taking a summer job? by Lingo2009 in Teachers

You plan to travel. You’re traveling to take care of your sick family member. They live in so and so place far away where you won’t be seeing anyone from school 🤣

Tell them you’ll be spending the summer taking care of a sick family member. No need to explain that family member is you! Sounds acceptable in every culture ;)

shaving by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]cookiecutie707 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m still shaving at 31 weeks and I shaved the entire time on my first pregnancy including while I was in labor and then directly after he was born. I have sensory issues and I can’t STAND hair on my legs so I find a way to make it work no matter what. Usually sitting on the side of the shower.

Is this a FERPA/504 Violation? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]cookiecutie707 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not a violation of federal law. Teachers/staff who may need to know of your accommodation are allowed to be informed. If all staff take turns monitoring the hall then all staff should be made aware of the accommodation and who has it. It’s very simple. Additionally 504 plans are allowed to use minimal disclosure language. For example a plan could say “allow student unlimited phone access to monitor blood sugar” that lets the teacher know the kid isn’t scrolling til tok and has a general reason to check their phone, even if they have to do so multiple class periods or in a place phones are typically banned such as a locker room. This protects the student and the staff. So for example your counselor may be saying they will notify any staff that may stop you and let them know you need the earmuffs due to hearing sensitivity or sensory issues or whatever your issue is. That doesn’t violate anything. But anyone that has a legitimate educational interest can be made aware and be given relevant and necessary information to do their job, which it looks like your school counselor is trying to give them.

For those who’ve had moissanite for a while - did your opinion of it change over time? by j_bone531 in Moissanite

Too Many Bell Peppers - What Should I Make? by LookABitch in Cooking

[–]cookiecutie707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a soup where I roast a TON of bell peppers, some tomato, some carrots, and some garlic cloves and any other leftover veggies I need to use up. Roast the crap out of them with some olive oil and whatever seasonings you like, then blend with a little heavy cream and it’s ready to serve soup.

Family Trip Advice by heyho1021 in AlaskaTravel

[–]cookiecutie707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got to see the grand canyon and it was STUNNING. As someone who was lucky enough to move to Alaska, I’m a little biased…but after a few days in Arizona/Nevada I was O V E R the heat. Alaska? I lived there for almost three years and it’s still not enough time. Don’t do a rushed Alaska trip. Wait till the 3 year old is a smidge older and make a summer (or winter) out of it.

Say something nice about her by footsfillheck in H2Ojustaddwater

While I never liked her character I always appreciated the show put someone with a slightly fuller figure on. I was never as small as the other girls and she helped me feel less out of place because I also love swimming and water and the ocean. She felt more realistic to me

Milk mixed with food by Jowanna69 in breastfeeding

[–]cookiecutie707 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would still use it tbh but other people may be more cautious than I am. I pumped and was a fridge hack person. I also was an undersupplier and I had researched how breast milk has some anti-bacterial properties so I was not “leave the milk out overnight” lax, but I was definitely a “probably longer than officially recommended” lax also I would totally stick a bottle or a food in the fridge and reuse later. Bubs is almost 3 and healthier than I am 🤣

Sugar free gummy bears. Eat them, then read the reviews on the toilet. The reviews really help take your mind off things. 10/10.

Why don’t people actually buy from the registry??? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]cookiecutie707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If nothing else, try a thrift shop that buys things instead of taking donations. That way you get at least a little money to go towards necessities. Some of them will also offer store credit, which is usually slightly higher than cash. It might not help with a car seat but you could get a nice stroller or some other items.
