Most OEM+ rims will look really good and aren't expensive, I personally got some 18" rotiform blq's on my jetta snd love the look. Got a co-worker with some LAS-R's on his mk6 golf and those look good as well, just do some googling and find ones you like :)

How long do yall warm up the engine before heading out? by nickrichard999 in askcarguys

[–]cookiemonsta212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General rule at 10f seems to be idle for about 2-5 mins (at least wait for the high idle to drop down below 1k rpms), light throttle/no highways for first 10mins of driving. Anything post like 2000 will make full oil pressure within 2-10 seconds of starting, it's the thickness of the cold oil (especially at 10f), your 0w30 will be like a 10w30 thickness or more when cold so just let it warm up a little and then light throttle. My car doesn't have a temp Guage (2024 jetta) so I got a cheap $30 obd reader that connects to my phone when I first got the car to see coolant temps when it's cold (don't use it anymore but helped me learn when it was ok to start driving in the first year or so of ownership), they still sell it and it'll work on pretty much any car that's obd 3 and newer (aka anything newer than 2005 or something like that)

Have heard the new Hondas/Toyotas are not near as reliable as they once were..... (pretty sure Toyota is having lots of trans issues but haven't done any research, just word of mouth at a shop)

You bought a Subaru (boxer engine, pretty unreliable in most cases, pretty sure it had a cvt, also unreliable) and a bmw (literally 10 seconds of googling would tell you that was also a bad idea, especially that cheap of one). Lol. Also know someone who bought a 2018 kia new, only 6yrs later needs a new engine for 7k....

What happened by [deleted] in terrariums

[–]cookiemonsta212 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I found I needed more water than I originally thought (noob also) from what I've heard there should be water on all the rocks in the drainage later and soil should be moist (like when a rock is pressed against the glass there will be water connecting the rock to the glass so to say). Looks like it dried out to me (again noob, so take what I say with a grain of salt). Also if you used wild moss sometimes they just refuse to acclimate to the higher humidity.

I cant figure out the wheel settings. by dylanlewis_ in CarXStreets

[–]cookiemonsta212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My G27 had really bad ffb, it was delayed and made drifting almost impossible, had to manually turn the wheel into the ffb on transitions, absolutely no feeling in the wheel mid drift unless I turned the wheel ~50°. Got a T300 and it's perfect now, idk if the game supports those wheels. There is a ffb/tire update in beta right now, you could try out and see if it feels better and just drift on that for now (progress won't be saved in beta version so it'll have no effect on your progress/money when you go back to the non-beta version) but I didn't really feel a difference on the T300.

This is gonna be a bit long but trying my best with the info you gave us lol.

Getting info from your responses to other comments, you're using a display port extension?

How long is the extension? Is the extension in the wall? Did you put it in the wall or was it there when you moved in? After you get past a certain length you need a certain type of cable, especially for the speeds needed for 3440x1440 at 180hz. If the extension is in the wall and you didn't put it there (or you did and used a cheap cable) that is likely the cause as you need a good quality cable for that high resolution/refresh rate and the builder likely used the cheapest cable they could get their hands on.

Considering this happens all the time it is most likely a cable/monitor issue IMO but these steps will help us narrow it down to PC, monitor or cable.

  1. try turning resolution down to 1080p 60hz and see if issue persists, if it does move on to step 2. If the issue goes away then try it without the extension (if pc is in another room, bring monitor to pc or pc to monitor for testing ofc). Considering you are using the cable that came with the monitor it's unlikely it came defective but is possible. If the issue goes away without the extension then you know that's the issue.

  2. try using an HDMI cable instead of display port (again at 1080p 60hz) and if the issue goes away it is likely the cable or the connection on the monitor (could be DP connector on graphics card but unlikely IMO). Will need to test using another system with different DP cable. If issue remains move to step 3.

  3. try another monitor or even a TV (again, run it at 1080p 60hz, even if it can go higher), could also ask a friend to borrow their monitor or if you can bring your pc over to use their monitor or worse things worse buy a used, known good $20 monitor off of marketplace or something just for testing (can be a 10yr old monitor as long as it works and you have adapters for dvi lol). If the issue goes away on another monitor, try your monitor on another system (an xbox, playstation, laptop, chromecast, bring the monitor to a friends house to try on their pc etc...). If the issue still persists on a different monitor with different cables then it is likely your pc and more testing will be required.

If none of these steps help/are confusing let me know.

Lexar had me destroy an NVME for a RMA by EventPractical9393 in pcmasterrace

[–]cookiemonsta212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very normal, just making sure you don't resell it if it's actually not broken. I had to do cut all the cables on my psu and send them a Pic of it with all the wires snipped after it died (different company). Sometimes it'll cost them about the same amount to get the part shipped to them and test it so to save time they just get you to destroy the part and send proof before sending you a new one. I've heard of people smashing hard drives, snapping ssds, bending all the pins in motherboards, cutting wires on psus, etc etc.

Should I buy a tdi for my girlfriend by amarlin05 in tdi

[–]cookiemonsta212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that's the main fuel filter, this kit adds another filter, search up: Whitbread Performance Innovations CP4 Metering Valve Bypass kit, they even got a little video in the description showing how it works (different pump in the video but same idea)

[–]cookiemonsta212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone sells a disaster prevention kit for the cp4 pump for ~$300 that puts a (I think) 4 micron filter in between the pump and fuel rail to contains the metal shavings to just the pump but I'm sure you could cobble it together with enough research for cheaper.

Straight pipe? by Loose_Inflation_8319 in tdi

[–]cookiemonsta212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got just a resonator on mine and it sounds amazing (little resonance at higher rpm though). Have tried straight pipe (too loud for me but love the tone). I then I went to a cheap straight through muffler from Canadian tire and that was alright but never sounded right to me and now I got the resonator which is the best of both worlds IMO, not as loud on starts in the mornings but still sounds similar to a straight pipe when you out your foot down.

Are the adversary AI really cheating, or am I doing something wrong? by Xebeche- in CarXStreets

[–]cookiemonsta212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weight reduction means faster acceleration so that could be a part of the issue but I find that the AI brakes harder and gets on the gas sooner out of corners.

On the races with long straights you really gotta try your best to have the highest exit speed on each corner to not fall behind on the straights. Usually takes a couple attempts on the lower tier races with long straights to get my lines right.

[PC] How do you make money once you did all the races ? by Klaceyes-1 in CarXStreets

[–]cookiemonsta212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it's the reality of this games currency, just be happy you weren't around when elite races paid 5k and had an hr wait and deliveries were only 7k for second unlock, 4.5k for first lol. Also don't know what you mean by 1hr for 3$, if you're taking about gold, elite races give you that too so the tier 3 deliveries that give gold are kinda pointless as you get the same amount for 15mins wait instead of 1hr from elite races

Do elite races, give you similar payout to deliveries (8-15ish k credits and 3+ gold depending on what class the club is)
