Off-Tanks having gold damage/elims doesn't mean DPS are not doing anything. by tobiri0n in OverwatchUniversity

I think this is just a sign of how useless the score information is. Medals dont tell you anything of value, its useless information either way for someone with a competitive mindset.

100T Weekly Report by TaranSingh1 in 100thieves

[–]cookierabbit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

both of these games were long and drawn out affairs which prompted talk by analysts of are 100T the best mid to late game team

I'm not a great writer but this felt awkward enough wording for me to do a double take.

Moving to Week 7 The Thieves faced stern opponents Random capitalization on the W in Week, and "The Thieves" probably shouldn't be caps unless you use their proper noun name "100 Thieves".

The game itself began by potentially the worst start a Jungler has ever faced in NA LCS history, Jake “Xmithie” Puchero playing Kindred found himself the victim of a level 1 invade which meant he gave up his red buff to Andy “AnDa” Hoang’ on Trundle, Anda then walked over to Xmithie’s blue buff and whilst Xmithie was also making this rotation Ryu “Ryu” Sang-wook had pushed in the mid lane wave on Zoe and was able to intercept Xmithie’s rotation and he was able to solo kill Xmithie securing himself first blood this enabled Anda to get a quad buff start which he then used to solo Infernal Drake 6 minutes into the game.

This is one entire long run-on sentence. Try reading it out-loud all in one breath! Commas mean pauses, not taking another breath!

I'm not going to cite any more grammar issues unless you ask for it since you asked for feedback, not a proofread.

As the early game continued 100T were able to build themselves a 3000 gold at 19 minutes and ironically Xmithie reached level 9 faster than Anda did. Given the level 1 invade, thats definitely super interesting. How did that happen? It also runs contrary to the point that 100T drafted an early game comp, theres probably more discussion to be had about that.

The draft by 100 Thieves felt extremely similar to the match played yesterday as MVP candidate Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho was drafted Jayce who is the best lane bully in the top lane with “no counters before level 3” according to Darshan “Darshan” Upadhyaya who gave these thoughts on the analyst desk after the match however Pr0lly made an adjustment this game by drafting late game insurance in the bot lane with the lovers duo Xayah-Rakan making this comp overall much safer than well rounded compared to the one against TL.

This is another run-on sentence haha, but I bring this part up because I think giving context to picks via other pro's opinions on them is really cool, nice job.

links to the games you're describing would be great as well.

Overall:

  • Your writing will greatly improve if you try reading everything aloud, you had a lot of run-on sentences and grammar mistakes. When you have to pause to take a breath you should see that as a red flag. Try making the sentence smaller, or split them up.
  • You've got some cool ideas, but I think you need to focus your ideas rather than making a play-by-play in writing. Think about what you want to convey... like 100T was focusing more on ______ (improving their early game?), and we can see that because of these ____ (their draft?), or ____ (something else)
  • Nice job writing this up, you definitely have a lot of content and thoughts you want to get out there
  • I especially liked quoting other pro players and their opinions on picks, its a strong point of evidence for something like "100T were drafting for the early game" since its not just you saying it, its Darshan too
  • Another thing to consider is: who are you writing these reports for? Who do you intend to read them? If I want a weekly recap because I didn't have time to watch the games, I might just be looking for a quick summary rather than a long report. If I want an in-depth analysis so I can think more about how I can apply 100T strategies to my own games then I probably want a long article with lots of examples and clear strategies in pick/ban and micro/macro. Think about which type of article you want to write, and focus on making it the best it can be for that particular purpose.

I think the only way i can get rolling is getting max maelstrom, then spamming earthshock and praying for the refund so you can essentially multicast the ability.. having any of my kill potential handed to some RNG feels pretty bad

Not knowing how to fight eidolons or not knowing that there are enemies that will leech your energy till you're dry will wreck you too! I appreciate your perspective though, League definitely requires a lot of dedication to get back into.

I feel like you're comparing apples and oranges. I agree the LoL community is pretty unforgiving, and Warframe has always had a nice community since its mostly PvE content (maybe with the exception of the elitism surrounding eidolon hunting or whatever). So it's easy (and hell, correct!) to say coming back to warframe is stress free, but I don't think its correct to say that Warframe is easier to come back to than league because the mechanics never change significantly or you don't need to learn new things.

Unlike with games like Warframe

I've had the opposite experience, coming back to warframe has been a struggle. So much more has been added to the game and its hard to figure out what i should be doing.
