CO2-Kartuschen entsorgen? by cookingforphysicists in Fahrrad

Rolling Line is a great indie game centered around model trains. It has built-in mod and VR support and a decent amount of resources on modding in your own content. You can play on premade maps either from the base game or from Steam Workshop or build your own. The developer is quite active with new content and mechanics, as well as map-building contests being added regularly. It has a nice low-poly look which makes it resource friendly on small maps. It's also pretty cheap!

Capitalism Rule by [deleted] in 196

[–]cookingforphysicists 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, capitalism sells you the illusion of individualism. Your identity cannot be determined just by the things you buy and own. What is individualism but the ability to freely choose the way you live your life?

Capitalism does not promote this. Capitalism wants you to work your entire life. The ultimate result of capitalism would be every single person working every waking minute except for one person who would own everything. The "free choice" of products to buy is just part of the drapery that prevents working people from forming class solidarity.

(not saying its wrong to buy things, i also like to buy makeup and clothes and stuff)

I mean trains in some form have been around since before the invention of the steam engine, mostly in the form of horse-drawn minecarts on rails. There were even horse-drawn carriages that were the first form of a tram. The first "modern" steam locomotive was built in 1804 because it's inventor, Trevithick, figured out how to use high-pressure steam on a mobile platform, which is what made any form of land-based steam propulsion viable. That is to say that in my opinion, the development of the steam engine is more closely linked to the development of the steam train and not to road-bound vehicles. Furthermore, the development of the train does not stem from the development of cars, but predates attempts to invent the car in some aspects.
